If my date doesn’t update from 9/25 to 9/19, this will be the first year I don’t receive mine on launch day. No biggie but kind of a bummer.

I’m still debating cancelling and reordering since I show 9/19 for the two models I bought but it’s on iUP and I’m afraid I won’t be able to reorder them
Until Monday if the upgrade doesnt go right back on.

Same - I got the launch day availability, but I kind of wish I'd gone with a different model. The one I want is in stock for launch day at my local Apple Store. I just don't want to risk letting mine go to have it not work out.

Mine is set for 9/19 and still processing... really hope this changes soon, especially as more of you report changing to preparing to ship.

Mine always from past always seem to be late afternoon-evening when it shifts to prepare for shipment.

I expect the same if my 25th delivery moves up…..

I don’t do it myself, since the nearest store is about 90 minutes away and my wife works from home. With UPS deliveries, a signature is usually required, and not everyone is around to sign. Some people also don’t feel comfortable leaving a package outside until they get back. For others, it’s all about having it in hand by 8 a.m. on release day, because waiting just isn’t an option. Some like posting on social media that they got their phone early, while others want to set up their new device right at work so it’s ready to use instead of waiting until they’re home.

You’ll even see people pulling all-nighters, tracking their phone’s flight from China to Alaska on FlightAware. For some, it’s almost like waiting for a newborn to arrive. I stop by this forum because I get a kick out of watching how over the top the excitement can get. Some people get genuinely upset if the phone isn’t on their doorstep at 8 a.m. sharp, and a few even demand compensation. Others have full-on panic attacks if there’s a delivery hiccup and they don’t get their phone exactly when they want it. Definitely first-world problems.

I have a theory why some models are showing delivery on the 25th and that is Apple is going to select slower shipping methods instead of Next Day Air to save on costs to make up for the lackluster sales IPhones have recently had. I could be totally off here, but it’s the only logical reason I can come up with for orders placed the second the App Store opened. Stores have inventory on the 19th because it doesnt cost Apple as much to ship a whole back to a single location.
Makes sense, but I recall Apple in the past pushed us to have it delivered, probably to not have the stores and malls overwhelmed. Circumstances have changed?

At 8:05 this morning (time I was finally able to get in) was showing delivery date for the 25th. So, I decided to not order and go see it in my hands at the store first since the stock for the stores looked fine. Now I went back in just out of curiosity and the date is the 19th 🤯 Looks like this size/color is really not very popular. I still didn't make my decision if I'm upgrading since I usually do every 2 years and last year, I got the 16Pro.

Canceled my 8:02 order for 9/25 delivery finally, was able to order in store pickup form an Apple Store 3 hours away lol, base 17 in Sage 256gb.
Omg! So you're going to drive 6 hours just to get the phone a few days earlier.... dude at that point just wait till the 25th...shheeeeesh

I pre-ordered a 1tb Orange Pro at 5:03am this morning and it was already 9/25 delivery.

I just now placed an exact same order after 10am and its delivery on 9/19. The 25 date this morning must have been a glitch. Cancelled the first order.

Umm...you may have a point...can't believe we are going back to the days of lining up at a physical brick and mortar store for our phones....

Although Apple didn't raise the prices on this year's phones, this may be one way Apple is trying to mitigate the impacts of those tariffs.
You might be onto something!

Back during the pandemic years, Apple promoted delivery instead of instore.

Now with tarriffs, it makes sense that Apple wants you to go into the store because they won't have to pay for shipping to each customer. Apple store receives pallets of phones via truck, saving them lots of money!

Yes. The efficiency of the preorder system via the phone app, nobody lined up outside my store last year waiting for it to open since most people had their appointment times set. Maybe it's different in places where people are forced to pay in cash?

I cancelled and ordered on AT&T’s site which says the 19th. I never thought a carrier would have their stuff together more than Apple

It took me about 5 minutes after the store opened to complete my 17 Pro order. Will be picked up first thing on 9/19. It went much smoother and faster than I anticipated. Well done, Apple. (Still stinks that I have to do the trade-in via mail, though)

In our location, all Base, Air, Pros all still available for 19th delivery or 19th/20th pickup.

All PM's (with the exception of the blue largest few capacities) ship Oct 6-13, no pickup available. By far 256 PM seems to be the biggest seller if this is any indication.

The enthusiasts this year, aren't ordering the 17 Pro, they are ordering the 17 PM. Hence why the process was much more manageable for you...as per the comments in this forum.

Surprisingly, even though some glitch on the Verizon app forced me to use an agent to order my 512 GB Cosmic Orange Pro, which took almost 40 minutes, it’s shipping on 9/19. Go figure. I was relieved because when it was taking soooooooo long I was certain shipping would be on 9/25. One would expect the best service to come from Apple.

This is very individual. Some people don't mind waiting a few days, and for some it's a big enough deal to make a 6-hour round trip drive. I don't judge either way. This is the first year I don't have a launch day delivery even though my order was complete ONE MINUTE after the Apple Store went live. Something going on over there at Apple. If you're one of those who's upset about the slipped delivery date and no ISPU option, especially for IUP people, I strongly suggest you send an email to Tim Cook (tcook@apple.com). You'll get a call from his executive team and that rep will tell you he'll try to fix the issue. I did that, waiting for a resolution. They've been helpful to me in the past with IUP issues. Strength in numbers, so they don't think the one or two people who go that route are a couple of Karens. We're not being Karens — we're customers who understand that mistakes happen but expect consistency and fairness from one of or THE largest tech companies in the world to whom we pay a lot of money for a phone we look forward to every year.
