PSA: According to ShrimpApplePro it appears Apple's new 40W with 60W peak charging brick is the only charger capable of charging the new 17 Pro + Max at full advertised speed of 50% charge in 20 minutes. Apparently this is because the new phones use the latest PD3.2 SPR AVS charging protocol which no chargers currently support... except for Apple's new charger. Until new chargers come along with this standard you'll be looking at 30 mins for a 50% charge instead of 20 mins.

I guess we won't know until we get the devices in hand and people run real world tests (or Apple provides confirmation beforehand).

@gaedfly I know you were looking into chargers, sorry I only just learned this. I suppose this only matters if you're looking for the maximum possible charge speed. Personally I don't really mind, I'm satisfied with the current charge speeds on my 16PM.

I wonder if the switch 2 charger I picked up (rated at 67 watts) would work for the fast charging for my pro max?

this one specifically (and cheap)

Hi! First time I preorder something, like ever.
Placed the order from a big local electronics store here in Romania, we don’t have Apple Store, about 7-8 minutes before the official 15:00 local time launch of presales. (Romania is also within the first wave of presales/sales)
Paid 7419 RON, 1720 USD for a 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max Deep Blue, crazy difference in price compared to the US, when ordered had the estimate date on the 22nd of Septemeber.
We shall see

Just checked the Verizon app and almost 12 hours later, every color in every storage option is STILL available. The Air gonna go the way of the mini and plus models lol
The only model backdated even on Apple's site is the Pro max. So either the demand was less across the board or they were prepared for massive preorders and had enough phones this time. I know alot of pop,le who got the Air including myself and I think every YouTuber got one from what I see on social media... The Air is also a standalone product (as Tim Cook even confirmed on CNBC yesterday, it's the future iPhone now), so it can't go the way of the mini or Plus models.

Came here to ask this. Mine is still “order placed,” but i want to cancel it and order for delivery now that everything seems to be fixed. My configuration (17 Pro Blue 512) is now showing 9/19 delivery, when at 5:02am it was 9/25 🙄
It was a glitch in the Apple system and they corrected it. Your iPhone is now to deliver on 9/19. 👍
