i can receive mms, have you had mms enabled on your account? I had to tell o2 I was using a nokia n95 to get this done, had to be passed to second line.

oh right.. so you actually called them?.. i haven't done that yet...
were they arsy about it.. i mean.. they know you have an iphone.. so...

I've finally created a T-Mobile Germany ipcc which enables tethering as well as MMS sending..

the ipcc uses internet.t-mobile as it's APN.. as far as i know you can only use this APN if you made your t-mobile complete contract on or after july 11, 2008.. if you are unsure whether or not you can use this APN call t-mobile first and ask.. i WILL NOT take responsibility for bricked iPhones and/or high bills.. use at your own risk!

1. download http://www.cybersystem.de/TMobile_Germany.ipcc
2. alt click update in itunes, choose the ipcc file
3. restart your iphone.. otherwise mms wont work...

That one WORKS! Thank you!!!!!

How did you get it to work in Windows?

I paired with the iPhone and it added it into my list of Bluetooth Devices, I right clicked on it and clicked Join Personal Area Network, and it just...worked, which is more than I can say for OS X.

i used the O2 ipcc file which also has tethering... make sure you prop them up as a lot of work went into it :)

after its applied, you must reboot your phone before you can see the photo icon in a sms message...

i can't receive mms though.. i get the standard o2 message with web address and pin...
reckon it's something o2 just have to activate on their end..

cheers well i used that icpp and have tethering working and i see the camera icon but cant send mms messages :( oh well will maybe phone up o2 and see if they can activate anything so i can send mms cause i even tried to send a group text messages and that failed on account of it being a group mms for some reason :S cheers for the help tho

Something I noticed on Orange.ro after hacking the ipcc and messing around with MMS is that the images taken by the iPhone camera cannot be sent as MMS, but smaller ones are ok (eg: some pic saved from Safari).

IMO, the MMS app does not resize the iPhone camera images which are rather large (~600KB) which makes the MMS probably be rejected by the operator.

I've just used the ipcc listed in this thread on o2 uk, tethering and mms options become avaliable on the phone but trying to send an mms results in an error.

Since people in this thread have reported mms working with that ipcc can one of you guys tell me were there any special steps you took to get it working?

Thanks

Can you share the settings you used for mms?
(I currently use mms_proxy 62.217.247.252 / mms_proxy_port 80 / mmsc http://wap.mms.orange.ro:8002)
Tethering works well on orange.ro.

Thank you!

I just did the same as this and can now send and receive mms, however the ones i receive are absolutely terrible quality ... did you get the same as this?

Cheers

Tethering

Hey there, Anybody got tethering to work in Austria with T-Mobile ? I hooked up my iPhone to the iPhone Enterprise Utility to check out the Console and that is what it is saying when I open the Network Preferences.

Fri Mar 20 19:04:31 unknown misd[93] <Notice>: CommCenter is not ready (got -2 for traffic); waiting 1 more second(s)
Fri Mar 20 19:04:32 unknown CommCenter[33] <Notice>: Settings not yet available
Fri Mar 20 19:04:36 unknown misd[93] <Error>: gave up asking CommCenter for traffic context ID after 5 seconds (got -2)

Anybody any Idea ? I tried to modify the settings for Germany my settings are attached.

Thanks for any replies.

Has anyone with AT&T and an iPhone running 3.0 beta been able to activate the tethering as well?
I have gotten tethering to work on AT&T to work and Safari still works on the iPhone. But MMS does not show up in messaging anymore, though. Just use the AT&T ipcc that is on page 10 or 11 of this thread and put it on your iPhone. Oh yeah, you can tether on Windows. But I have not gotten it to work on Windows using usb. I only got it to work through bluetooth.

Okay Im back (the guy who wrote the first IPCC)

MMS won't work as carriers have been told by apple the iphone doesnt support MMS, they have disabled it. You can ring them and ask for it to be enabled by this has had mixed results

Thethering will only work if you have iphone SDK installed as it patches both itunes and the system so that tethering can work correctly.

Hi Guys,

I finally made it to get MMS and Tethering activated on O2 Germany (my o2_Germany.ipcc --> Attachement).

Sending and recieving MMS works great.
In my Settings Screen I see the Tethering Option and I can activate it. But I didn't managed to connect my PC (I have Vista... shame on me!) with the iPhone. Neither with USB nor with Bluetooth.

I even can't connect my PC with Bluetooth to the iPhone. They are just not finding each other...

Someone has an Idea?

Here's my carrier.plist:

I was able to get Bluetooth tethering working with AT&T on my Mac Pro (Rev A) but not my new MacBook Air. I understand that Bluetooth tethering doesn't work with newer BT chipsets. That leaves my only option to be USB, but I need one file from the SDK: iphonesystemcomponents.pkg

Does anyone mind uploading/sending me this package?

Thanks,
Sam

i've this pkg, i've installed but i don't know how work...

I got mms working with Rogers

so I started off at a naked 3.0 and wanted tethering so updated carrier settings for rogers with a file from the net. I decided to locate specific info to add MMS capability and successfully got the little camera icon now showing up when sending a text (to add pics and such).

attached is the file I used however I cannot successfully send or receive MMS's...

anyone wanna take a look at the file and see what needs to be updated please. I would greatly appreciate it. Any updates, please reply with an updated carrier .ipcc file.

just rename the .zip into .ipcc and upload it thru itunes

Got mms working with rogers. After you load .ipcc file, restart phone, go to settings, General, network, Cellular Data Network, apn is internet.com, username is media, password is mda01. change .zip to .ipcc. I have sent a few pics to myself. I send the pic and exit messages and about a minute or so later i get a red dot on my messages and there is the mms.

[This one seems to work really well on Rogers. Contact sent by mms go fairly quickly. Pics seem to send quicker than previous attempts. Download file.
If it downloads as a zip, rename to Rogers_ca.ipcc. If it downloads as Payload or Payload 1,2 or 3 , rename to Payload, Compress and then get info and rename to Rogers_ca.ipcc, then shift or option check for updates, restart iphone, and mms.
