Two camps here, those who prefer performance and those who prefer looks. Performance matters above all else for me and hopefully Apple will address this ASAP.

We'll put! If Apple could just fix the choppy and horrible animations, which they will, iOS 7.1 will be a dominant system that many more people will enjoy.

7.1 has the exact same animations just quicker and smoother.

Lol. Yeah, instead of 80% of the screen being nothing but wasted space, you get 80% of the screen showing thumbnails of the app hours ago.

Wasted space is still wasted space. All they did was polish something that was bad and make it slightly nicer.

You want totally live apps? Have fun with 3 hours of battery life.

You want the more icons on the screen? Then you might as well just go and use the home screen instead.

If you don't have some sort of logical solution that actually makes sense theres little point to complaining.

Not quite sure how there's wasted space. From a layout standpoint anything bigger would show less cards in multitasking. You honestly think they didn't test other methods?

It's all about balancing functionality with being readable and useable.

Don't see your point here at all - the app previews in IOS 7 are not wasted space at all, I find them really useful. An example - you're looking something up on the web or in some other app and want to add some figures together, or jot down some notes - now you can easily drop out of your notes app (or calculator etc) and see check the information in the any other app quickly without having to actually open any of them. Brilliant.

Even if that use case never applies to you, having a large easy to see reminder of the contents of each app makes it a lot quicker to find the one you want than just hunting through icons.
