How many people with a 15" and the AMD 460 do not have issues? I have a 15" with the 460 and I have yet to see any issues on mine... Personally I am amazed by the performance of the gpu - so much faster, colder & quieter than the 650m...

Of Course this could all change in a heart beat and then it will be "waiting for Skylake" all over again :(

No issues here with the 460. I'm not counting the FileVault thing though which is a total non-issue.

Does anyone see a correlation with all these recent product fails and the fact that they are produced in China? Prisoner labor, child labor, abysmal harsh working conditions. Bad Karma? Or the scourge of State run factories? Did Apple have these problems when products were made in civilized countries with basic worker protections and rights?

No, the correlation is more that Apple doesn't focus anymore on it's core competencies it once had. It is not product centric anymore - the eco system is falling apart.

USB-C to thunderbolt 2 dongle.

After which you have to spent another $1000 on egpu and video card and problem fixed

Some smartarse will just can an egpu with USbC connector though...

You mean a time capsule failed during the warranty period and not a few days after....who would have thought....

No, ALL my Apple products that Apple repaired or replaced, bar the ones with finger prints, were well outside their 12 month warranty periods. Funny that.......

mine started in about 2005
  • iMac G5 17"? (2005?) (Still have it but it is in a box.
  • iMac 2006? (Gift for Mum)
  • iMac 24" (2008?) sold it
  • MBP 2009
  • rMBP 2012 (still have it but it died)
  • (External LG DVD drive (why would I pay Apple tax to get their one for something i rarely but do use))
  • (Dell XPS 2016 (oh that's worrying why no Apple laptop?))
  • iPhone 3GS (still have it, not used)
  • iPhone 4 (Son now has it)
  • iPhone 5 (wife now has it)
  • iPhone 6
  • iPhone 7 (Nah never bought one, they pissed me off removing a standard audio port) oh that's worrying...
  • iPod 5th gen? video (have it, don't use it)
  • iPod shuffle (have it, don't use it)
  • iPod touch (have it, don't use it)
  • Apple tv
  • New Apple tv
  • Time Capsule
  • Trackpad (have it, don't use it, can't get the battery cover unscrewed)
  • (Several mice (non Apple they can't make ergonomic mice, thin just doesn't work on a mouse, neither does a single button))
  • (Ethernet Dongle, non Apple - rMBP didn't have one)
  • (3.5mm headphones non Apple - the Apple ones die so easily)
  • iPad 1
  • 2 x iPad air
  • 2 x iPad mini (1 was a Gift for Mum)
  • Apple watch
  • Aperture 1, 2, 3 (Yeah you pissed me off discontinuing that one Apple, smart move...)
  • iMovie (pissed me off removing the feature to delete portions of events to free up disk space)
  • extra ram for 2 iMacs and 1 MBP (i remember the good ol days when you needed more ram, you just popped out a pair and slotted in double the ram)
  • SSD for MBP (again the good ol days when you could replace a 5000rpm HDD with an SSD)
So why did I switch from Apple to Windows and may switch away from the iPhone?
  • Apple price gouging and the exchange rate does not help. If you are going to charge me top dollar, then make sure you give me what I need, not what you think I need and don't dictate what I need, how I should hold it etc etc
  • Apples fetish with thin. I want things to be light, yes thin is nice but not when huge compromises need to be made.
  • Use of non standard ports - lightning
  • Removal of every port etc under the sun (SD, Ethernet, HDMI, USB-A, 3.5mm jack, magsafe) (An please, no replies about how USB-C is so much better than USB-A, I know it is and I love USB-C, at this moment in time I want both)
  • Slow to innovate - waterproofing took an age, no fast charging
  • Repair score of 1/10
  • Apple likes to use solder rather than daughter boards.
  • Poor cloud services
  • Siri disnae unerstand meh Scottish accent :D take me to floor illivin (11). Did you know that Google was seeking helpers to improve speech recognition of the Scottish twang.
  • When a phone costs more than a laptop, you know there is something wrong.
  • Quality control, 2 iMacs and 2 MBPs have been back at Apple, every phone I own has been replaced except the 3GS due to issues. Trackpad battery screw cover won't open rendering it useless. One iPod was fixed.
  • Not letting me control my files. Have you seen how hard it is to give some a file without wireless or how hard it is sometimes to get a file from one app to another.
  • 5 years is now too short to give up supporting battery replacements. Apple you are smart enough to solve this issue but I guess with planned obsolescence you are happy not to.
How do you like windows so far?

Care to explain why, or we should just take your word?
I played with one, and it seemed like a pretty good machine to me.

Sure - screen on the Full HD is a farce - 85ms response time. I can even see a trail from moving the cursor. Its the single slowest display I have ever seen in 20 years. The matte finish is terribly prone to finger prints, oil and grease. The version with fusion drive clicks and makes strange noises when playing YouTube videos.

The 4K-Display version is flickering for months now and even the latest bios update didn't fix that.

Go check yourself on the notebook review forum - XPS 15 9550 owners club.

The XPS 15 9550 model is a complete fiasco and I have never been more unhappy about an expensive device ever before.

Thankfully no issues with my Radeon 460, but a friend has the same spec has me and they have seen some minor glitches (nothing quite like in the video) we've both tested with Adobe stuff.

To say mine has been problem and bug free would be an understatement. It's nice that I get no fan noise anymore, my 2015 rMBP was like a wind turbine, even at 15% CPU usage, I got the fans changed and it was always the same. The keyboard is so satisfying to type on...

...but i'm getting software issues in Sierra, every time I click on a password field in Safari it creates a spinning beachball for a few seconds. Touch Bar is great, but the advanced options are not there yet - we need to run advanced macros and scripts from the touch bar easily really - and for all the whining about upgrading to Skylake, these processors generate more or less the same Geekbench score as the 2015 MBP running Broadwell. I'm really not at all bothered about the Intel naming conventions anymore like others are.

The news just gets worse and worse.

There is something very wrong inside Apple.

Comment of the day for funniest post. These are AMD GPU's.

It's like people saying it's Apple's fault when they haven't shipped Skylake when Intel themselves say they aren't ready for prime time.

All blame Apple because it's the easiest thing to do. Bless.

The Skylake Intel CPU in the Macbook Pro 2016 is from 2015... Not Apple's fault?

As insurance, Apple's extended holiday return policy is currently in effect. MacBook Pros purchased or delivered between November 10 and December 25 are eligible for return until January 8, 2017 in the United States, Australia, and Canada, or January 20 in the United Kingdom and some other European countries.

I ordered a 2TB BTO with the 460 shortly after the announcement, and I picked it up on Monday. I haven't opened the box. I was debating returning it based on some of the other issues. But it says on my ordered page that it is ineligible for return. I read the return policy, and I don't see why it should not be returnable.

I suspect you called Apple customer service asking about that. What did they say?

Thats just 1 month into the lifetime of this product...
can you imagine how many issues will rise in the next 6 months? Dead batteries, malfunctioning screens, dead motherboards, malfunctioning tap-tic engine, sticky keys....

For the first time in my life I say this: I advise consumers to buy a Windows laptop

I had graphics issues like these on my iMac 2015 with radeon graphics for ages. BUT the same hardware runs just fine with Bootcamp Windows. I'd bet my ass this is Apple's terrible OSX graphics driver at work again. You know, the same graphics driver that is responsible for rendering 3D content at least 30% slower than Windows or Linux. The graphics driver that supports only outdated OpenGL versions and Apple's own Metal that nobody cares about.
