I've been using SteerMouse for years, so no issues with my Logitech mice. Logitech's software has always been flakey in my experience, Sierra issues or otherwise.

This is my big beef with third-party companies that grow too big and put too much focus on Windows-first. The Mac experience suffers. Printer, scanner and camera drivers are some very good examples. There's NO excuse for this to have happened. Logitech had plenty of time to iron out any incompatibilities with macOS Sierra before its public release. Where were the reports during beta testing? Did none of the beta testers have Logitech mice or use this atrocity called Logitech Control Center?

The fact that they called it "Mac Sierra" in the response is proof that they are not Mac users.

Adobe is another culprit in delivering software with a poor or sub-standard Mac experience.

Glad I'm not the only one experiencing this.

A post from the official Logitech forums suggests that a fix may be coming tomorrow:

Got a response from Logitech, the CEO passed my email on to correct dept and this was from them...

"Sorry you’re having issues with Sierra/LCC. My team is testing an update today that we expect to make available tomorrow to fix the Sierra issues."

Fingers crossed.

I noticed these issues right at first (actually my driver crashed multiple times right at first, but it loaded fine after a restart).

I reinstalled the latest drivers, and everything seemed fine after that.

Did you just download the new LCC from Logitech?

Some users are reporting performance issues with Logitech's mice accessories after updating to macOS Sierra, mostly citing problems centered around "laggy" scrolling and some unresponsive customized buttons. Users have specifically mentioned that the M705 Marathon Laser Mouse and Performance Mouse MX are among products affected, but a wider swath of Logitech's mice lineup is likely included.

The reason behind the problems, and how wide it could reach, is because of an incompatibility issue between the Logitech Control Center app and macOS Sierra. As mentioned by a poster on the Logitech forums, on the latest 3.9.4 software for LCC, the M705's forward and back buttons were reported as "not working," while scrolling was being problematic as well.

A separate report, posted on StackExchange, detailed a similar issue with Logitech's mice on macOS Sierra. The user described their mouse as having "soggy inertia" scrolling in native Apple apps, and "choppy" scrolling in third-party apps. Ultimately, they found that updating to macOS Sierra "wrecked scrolling" on the Logitech mouse.
The Logitech Control Center Mac app allows users to customize the features of their Logitech accessories -- mainly mice and keyboards -- along with basic features like notifications for low battery life and when each device has a firmware update. Its incompatibility with Sierra appears to be the source of the problem users are describing online. Unfortunately, Logitech has confirmed that "LCC is not available on Mac Sierra," and that "there is no release date known" for when it might launch.
The same user who mentioned "wrecked scrolling" did appear to find some solutions to the problem, although they noted that everything was just "temporary band-aid tweaks" in the face of Logitech's lack of support. The user noted that messing around with the scroll and zoom settings in System Preferences > Mouse could help slightly, as well as checking out System Preferences > Logitech Control Center > Vertical Scrolling.

Maybe one could try the Apple magic mouse? I have one. I like it.

LCC 3.9.4 is crashing on two different computers running Sierra upon startup. I was a little surprised to not see a lot of others mentioning this.

So...You generated a fake conversation about what a deceased CEO would have said in this matter? Interesting.
Figured Steve was a generic enough name, given the community here. Feel free to insert Bill, John, Chris, Susan, Jessica, Valerie, Eric, Becky, Doug, Will, Gerald, Stanley, Peter or whomever you wish. Obviously you don't understand sarcasm or satire. And are clearly a victim of a self imposed micro aggression. Welcome to the internet in 2016.

Yes I 'generated' a fake email, for illustrative, entertainment purposes. Similar to an analogy, or other descriptive exercise to illustrate a point. Further I used the basis of a recently discussed actual email in which Phil Schiller (not deceased) addressed a customers issue regarding listening to an iPhone and charging at the same time which presents an issue when you only have a single lighting port for both audio and power (electricity). From that basis I superimposed a hypothetical situation (did you really think I meant it as actual without providing a screenshot?). In which very much alive and breathing customer Steve (I'm sure there are other individuals who share the name sake who are very much active bi pedal, eating, breathing entities who also have an iPhone, Mac with Magic Mouse and maybe even an iPad), was writing Phil (as many do hoping for a response) to answer the query of this very issue, with a response very similar to that which was given in the charging scenario which happened within the last week.

Your inferrrence of me disgracing the memory of Steve Jobs is audacious and unfounded. I'd strongly invite you to look through every single post I have made in this community to find any disrespect for the man. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the visionary he was and the legacy he has left behind.

I noticed scrolling on my MX was janky in Excel last night (interestingly, everything else seemed okay for me, but Excel would randomly scroll a few lines in the opposite direction of where I was trying to go, making it really awkward).

I had a feeling it was Logitech's fault, since there hasn't been an LLC update in a while. Oh well, it's not exactly the first time.

It's a shame--I like the hardware (with the caveat that it's been something like 7 years and they still haven't managed to make a mouse the equal of the MX Revolution), and after sucking for years their drivers had finally more or less gotten it together recently. They've even got more or less functional drivers for some gaming mice.

But seriously, Logitech--the OS has been in beta for months. You couldn't have at least gotten a beta driver out the door by now? Nothing?

One of those situations where I'd say "screw you guys" and go with a competitor, except there really isn't one. I like the Magic Mouse enough for casual use (and use one at work), but for long-term ergonomic use it's just not an option for my hands.

I un-installed and then re-installed the latest version of LCC. It didn't change anything, unfortunately.

Alternate headline "Logitech fails to deliver updated driver for their current mice on latest macOS, despite MANY MONTHS of advance notice."

Logitech really dropped the ball here. They knew the new OS was coming, they have developer access, they continue to sell mice as Mac compatible, yet... they don't know when they'll have working drivers? Pretty much everyone else updated their software for Sierra BEFORE the OS was released.

People without the talent or judgement to write high quality apps end up writing drivers for these places. It's pretty close to the bottom of the barrel on the software totem pole.

The logitech device I use on all my machines (the usb marble mouse) was not even recognized when I upgraded my work machine. Looks like no Sierra for my home boxes while I wait for Logitech to post an update. Get with it Ltech ...... that is what dev releases are for!!!!!

True, but there is someone above them whose job is to crack the whip.

Considering Sierra adds nearly 0 features to my 2011 mac, and I love my MX master, there is no way I will update until this is fixed. Sounds like that won't be long though. A little disappointed logitech didn't do anything about it until now.

Also, people who are dissing logitech mice, you are doing your wrist a dishonor if you consider apple's magic crap a decent mouse. Those things are garbage. They keyboards are alright though.

Excellent post and thank you for welcoming me to the Internet 2016. No one else has extended your gracious welcoming in this forum as you have and I am grateful. Thank you for addressing my lack there of and understated meaning of 'Sarcasm.' I feel I have a much more in depth insight of what you were originally attempting to post from Your silly and frivolous first post. Your overall lengthy response is filled with nothing more than semantics and an attempt to fail at being pertinent and or....funny?

But hey, I still enjoyed your reading your bloated retort, only to realize how the irony plays into your theory of what the true meaning of 'Micro-Aggression' is. Don't short sell yourself in terms you apparently struggle to fathom. Was my original post really provoking "Micro-Aggression?" I think a snark reply was more in line, however; nor was I disparaging you or Steve Jobs. My whole purpose was to alienate you to the other forum members and highlight your sophomoric post. Which falls in line with the other tandem 'One Liners' that frequent this website.

I would also like to politely decline your invite to partake in reading your previous posts to search for any negative remarks, reference Steve Jobs, mainly being, I believe I will find more of your long winded word salad posts.

In closing, I agree Jobs is a legend in his own right. I look forward to your reply. I am confident it will boast some form of edgey response, in which will include words and terms you use out of context. But that's what I'm here for, to participate in an educated, inspiring disucssion.

I find this crazy. Why on earth is would logitech not have made it compatible. They had 4 months... Which nitwit couldn't be bothered.

All they've done now is pissed off a bunch of tech minded people who use the mouse at home and at work who updated their god damn computers!

Lol their twitter has blown up. All they are saying is "We are working on a solution with our development team"

Plus I can charge and use my MX Master at the same time.

This. If apple figured out a way to fix this charging problem. I'd consider another magic mouse.

Exactly. I had the Magic Mouse and both Magic Trackpads and the MX Master beats all of them, especially for video editing.

Yep this. I have the performance MX. It cost me AU$45 on sale. A replacement magic mouse would have been about double. I don't like the thing that sticks out the side of my mac but there is a REASON respected YouTubers like uraverageconsumer, MKBHD, MrThaiBox123 all use them. They all use mac as well but they all use a Logitech mouse.
