Well after never buying a 3rd party set of headphones because I just never had headphones in much aside from the gym or running, I bought these with my apple credit. The comfort factor I cannot overstate compared to the apple ones. Can't even tell they're in my ears. The sound is leaps beyond the apple headphones as well. Bass delivery/response is huge although my only complaint is that the highs suffer leaving one to possibly use treble booster. Overall very good though I'm not sure it's worth $100. I find the cloth cord to not be very streamlined and hangs kind of crappy from your ears. I'm hoping this gets better with the cord being out of the packaging for awhile.

He owns the 310's and the v-moda's so he's comparing these to $300 headphones. Strangely enough, paying 3x as much apparently yields an increase in sound quality. Go figure! :D

Yeah true. But if the V-Moda's had sounded decent, I would have just kept using them and not decided I need to pay $250 (not $300 :)) for a better pair. Now the V-Moda's collect dust, which is more "expensive' to me than the $250 pair I use every day....

I would guess the Shure SE110s are probably better than the V-Moda's but I haven't tried them. I think I would just stick with the Apple ones until I could save up enough. It's a long term investment IMO. Wish I hadn't bought into all the positive reviews of the VMs and just bought the Shure's in the first place. That's the only reason I'm sharing my opinion, to give an alternate viewpoint. If people are happy with their VMs, more power to them.

Well i just got them, not really impressed initially but i heard after the 24 hour burn in it sounds a lot better, im not hearing the "booming" bass that im hearing about and was expecting but im just gonna keep listening with them and hope for the best, so for the burn-in do i just plug them into my ipod and let them run? Whats the best burn in procedure?

Well i have put them in my ipod nano, and let it play for the past 2 hours and already it sounds a lot better then it did before, im beginning to really like these headphones

Got mine a few days ago and I love the design and functionality with the iPhone -- but i find the sound very very tiring, even after a few days brake-in.

Ordered mine last week from the V-Moda online shop along with the cheap international shipping option and received them the same week along with a UPS customs bill for 20 quid. Still worked out comparable to the Apple Store UK price!

I found the small silicone fitting tended to slip in my ears a bit and would break the seal, however the medium sized tips are perfect and I can't fault the audio after a few days burn in.

They are a bit disconcerting when a call comes in as you can not hear yourself talking and become very self-concious of it and is quite offputting

I received mine on Friday, but I've only had the first chance to use them this morning - and even without a burn in, these are such a welcome relief from the bundled buds. Smaller than I thought, so not as "bling" as I feared, their comfort is great, and I sure the sound will be great after the burn in.

I got hit by the UPS bill as well though - I'll be looking into it as I'm sure import duty shouldn't be over 45% of the cost of the item!

Got mine today and am very impressed. Much more comfy than the bundled ones which wouldn't be hard seeing as they actually fit. But surprisingly, they're much more comfy than my Shure ones. Had to change the pads to the middle ones, but I'm seriously considering buying a set to use when running as well. Sound quality is also excellent, so at the moment its looking like money well spent.

Give the EQ settings some work. Treble boost really works well for me.

Mine arrived last night. I intend to give them a try on the ride out to Thanksgiving dinner. Tuning out my brother's kids will just be a side benefit. :D

I would like to get this one. But some reports on the net said that the part of the cord that connects the earbud is prone to fault. Does someone notice that?

For what its worth, I have a set of Etymotic ER-4 headphones which I love... I picked up the V-moda's because they fit the iPhone and have the mic/button... and so far they are working out well. They do sound a bit different from the ER-4's, but I've been totally happy with them so far.

Indeed so did I - without the sale I probably wouldn't have but... most reviews say they are great (and the standard apple earbuds never fit).

Ditto, pitty we missed free delivery by £4

I just can't use the standard Apple earbuds, they fit me fine but sound god awful to my ears :(

I got these the other day and am very happy with the sound, especially compared with the original Apple headset. Design-wise, they're fine, but could have been better:

- the microphone part of the original Apple headset is simply great, invisible and doesn't weigh anything and doesn't need to be secured to your clothes in any way. By contrast, the v-moda one is clumsy and needs a clip to secure or it will dangle all over the place.

- the plug that goes into the iphone is unnecessarily long and sticks up too far. I always feel that I could break it (or the iphone somehow) if it gets in the way in my pocket or elsewhere (which it does). The whole point of the recessed socket is that the hard part of the plug is almost completely recessed and the wire can move freely right out of the phone - at least that's how I understand/want it.

Besides that, they're nice.

Does this unit allow music control?

If it does then how?

thanks cos i am thinking of getting my mates to get it for my x mas present.:D

It has a mic and call controll button just like the standard iPhone headset (except it's a bit bigger, ok huge)

Mine arrived today, sound quality is glorious when compared to the standard buds, very happy indeed.

Actually, I found that I really wanted to secure the mic part of the Apple buds, as it was CONSTANTLY catching and sticking to my shirt collar, enough that sometimes it would pull out the bud if I turned my head. Doesn't happen anywhere near as often with the v-moda. Though yes, if they could have gone with something a bit more in the vein of the Apple mic design it would make it even better (needs to be easier to work the button, like the Apple mic).

Trust me....considering how many ways I've had the cord housing yanked out of my iPhone, sometimes even violently, I'm very surprised but pleased to report no breakage of either the phone or the headphones. Definitely relieving, but they could have shaved some size off the plug, yes.
However, with such a short distance between the opening of the iPhone headphone port and the opening that actually houses a connector, making a design that would have the plug almost completely recessed within the iPhone housing would be very difficult, as the shorter you make the part sticking out, the more difficult you make it to insert the connecter into the iPhone. Plus it would in a way make people more prone to yanking on the cord itself to remove the headphones, which would rather greatly increase wear/tear and eventual failure.

Well I've been using these for a while now so burn in is long since over. I don't hear any booming bass. The sound is alright. Definitely not worth $100. After using these exclusively for weeks, I dug out the Sony EX71s that I used with my old iPod and did a comparison. The sound of the V-moda's are not even in the same ballpark as the $40 sony's. The bass on the Sony's is much more powerful and the sound throughout the entire frequency range is much clearer. The V-moda's sound muddy by comparison. They are also less comfortable. But unfortunately the Sony's do not have the mic/button, so I continue to live with the V-moda's.
