Beta 11, still no resolve. If I hook up with usb-c to HDMI, it works, but not at 5K like the monitor is...
Is this an Intel MacBook Pro issue? I am looking to upgrading when the new M2 when they finally come out, but would hate to spend the money on that when I can't hook up my 5K monitor to it.

here we go again guys, I just updated mine and the issue has returned

I have a Mac M2 Air Running Mac OS Ventura 13.0 Public beta 11
(22A5373b).
My monitor Samsung G7 4k works fine with USB-C to HDMI but if I use USB-C to DisplayPort my display doesn't detect.

I have tried with another monitor at work, and the same problem occurred. I have also tried different USB-C to DP cables across both monitors. Same issue. I tried the cables on an intel MacbookAir, and it worked fine. I also tried the same cables on an M1 Air, and it worked fine.

The other strange thing is, I tried another USB-C monitor and used a USB-C to USB-C cable and it worked fine. I thought this was strange because isn't USB-C actually sending a DP signal?? Answers on a postcard, please...

Anyway, if anyone knows a fix, or if there are any developers using the final version of Mac OS 13 before its release, then I would love to know if this problem has been solved?

well, don't expect things to magically work on this latest release... No fix, still an issue. I can get 4k to work if I switch to a dongle and HDMI, but 5K will not work with my USB-C cable.

I installed public beta profile. Some older macOS version was installed for me and TB3 to DP not working. But after I upgraded to latest RC version, TB3 to DP start working again.

While skipping last beta as most of the people reported issues again, I can again verify that on 13 RC everything works as expected on my Mac Studio.

Lucky! my LG 49" ultra wide 5k still doesn't work....
My issue is my external display connected via Display Port 1.4 to USB C Macbook Pro 2018 is garbled whenever I plug it in on Ventura. I'm not able to see any windows due to the distortion once plugged in on both monitors. Tried connecting while laptop is open and closed, Same issue.

I find it funny how I can see my mouse cursor perfectly fine on the garbled screen. Are you able to see your cursor?

And I find it even more irritating that I have submit numerous bug submissions for it and I have heard nothing. I beta test for MS as well, they at least get back to me within a week.

I’m having the same issue: display all garbled. This is the worst Apple bug I’ve experienced. It makes my external display completely not usable.

This has happened to me when installing the GA release today. Interestingly I had the issue on Intel MacBook Air 2019 connected via thunderbolt to DisplayPort cable. Screen garbled on both laptop and external display (5120 x 1440). Interestingly my m2 2022 MacBook Air worked just fine. Same cable used in both tests.

Tried NVRAM / SMC reset and made no difference. Booting into safemode on Intel MacBook Air gave me working display.

OMG, thank you! Booting into safe mode solved my external display problem!!!

Is there any way of fixing this from safe mode ?
I tried disabling everything from 'login' but problem returned during a 'normal' reboot.

Is there any issue with just running in safe mode until this is (hopefully) properly resolved?

I rebooted into safe mode. The displays worked fine, not garbled. Then, I restarted the computer and confirmed it was no longer under safe mode. Displays are working fine for now.

I tried to reboot and it just came back garbled again. Did you do anything before you restarted it ?

No, I didn’t do anything else but booting into safe mode and then rebooting to normal. External display was connected the entire time.

External display works fine in safe mode, but when I shut down or restart into normal, it returns to garbled screen.

Same. This is very annoying. I wonder if getting a new cable would resolve the issue? Or if a s/w release will be made available to resolve this.

What h/w are you running out of interest?

Intel Macbook Pro to Samsung G9 via USB-C to Display Port 1.4
I assume we'll have to just wait for new software release, but who knows how long that may take.

I have Samsung G9 too..... It's interesting the my M2 MacBook Air does not have this issue.....

Have a customer that uses a macBook Air 2019 with a Wide Philips screen, same problem. Shift startup works for now.
See photo of screen / machine.
