Does anyone know if we can request the package to be held at the local fedex facility and go pick it up or does Verizon require a delivery attempt first? Be nice to go pick it up at 8 and not be antsy all day waiting haha.

I don’t believe so but you can sign a package release door tag and they’ll leave the package without a signature from ya (you sign the form instead). This is what I’m doing and have done for years. I understand you wouldn’t be able to do this everywhere. By signing this form, you’re releasing FedEx from all liability in case it’s stolen or whatever.
 
Yes they like to do that. I have a Xs MAX SG 512GB that I ordered 10 min after ordering began and am still in "Processing" with no charge. This happened the last several years since I got my iPhone 5. But so far they have always gotten it to me on time. Looks like the Xs MAX SG is the high demand one this year and being process last this time.

Well, it makes me feel a bit better that you ordered within ten minutes of ordering opening and still in the same boat I am. Hopefully Verizon will be sending out a TON of shipping notices tonight or early tomorrow morning.

I preordered two phones on Sunday as a new customer (switching from AT&T). On Sunday they said both phones (a gold XS and space gray XS both 256GB) were available for launch day delivery. After dealing with Verizon Fraud the next day (that was fun!), everything seemed ok. Currently though I am seeing the gold one shipped yesterday morning and the space gray still has not shipped. If I check my order status, it just says shipped with the tracking number that I got for the gold phone, but mentions nothing else, and so far I have only been charged for one phone. What are the odds I get the space gray Friday? I am trying to nail this down so that I know when I can sell my old phone.

Strong. Every year I have preordered (the last 6 years in a row), I get it the day that Verizon had on their website.

There was some crazy number in there that didn’t look like any of my account numbers. I fixed it and it went through.

Now my XS says “Processing” and my XS Max says “Pending”. Neither appear to have shipped yet.

It’s driving me a little nuts. I’m getting a new Apple Watch Series 4 on Friday too and I don’t want to bother pairing it to my old phone and then have to pair it again to my new phone when it eventually gets here.

Finally! :) Credit card charged (and VZW "thanks for your payment" text and email received) for iPhone XS Max 256GB Space Gray. Order confirmation email was received on Sept. 14 at 3:57 AM ET.

For what it’s worth none of mine have shipped and I ordered on Friday and dealt with the fraud bs too.
