Verizon 4S Preorder Status Thread

Woo hoo!

Called Verizon this morning about my credit card being declined (even though the CC company said nothing was wrong with the card and they are not seeing an attempt to even run the card on their end). They ran it again and said I should get my tracking email later tonight.

For my second phone, which I was porting from AT&T, they had a hold on it to find out if I wanted to add it to my family plan or if I wanted a separate plan for it. Messed up part is that they didn't bother to email me about that one. They said they were going to reach out to me in the coming days to confirm before sending the phone! Thank goodness my first phone had a credit card problem and that I asked about my second order before hanging up.

If you are porting from another carrier and are still pending, and you have a family plan, I would recommend you call to make sure it is ok.

One more thing... my status still says October 21st for a ship date, but the rep told me the system is not accurate for preorders and that mine will arrive the 14th. I ordered around 4a ET.

Shipped with UPS

I ordered my phone on 10/7 at 6:30AM EST. Finally got my UPS tracking number this morning. Apparently it shipped from China today, the 12th. Delivery is still scheduled for Friday, by the end of the day. Not sure how confident I am that it'll be here by then.

Still, I'm stoked! This is my first iPhone.

Hi all, I wasn't going to jump into this thread, but thought I'd post my update. My order status is still "We received your order and it is in process." I ordered at 7:00 CST on Friday morning. In my email, it has my firstname as my lastname, and vice-versia. To track the order, I've had to use my firstname instead of last. It hasn't really bothered me, however with others having issues with their CC, I thought I would check.

I called Verizon internet sales (no wait at all...very nice!), she said that the order had been fully proccessed and is waiting for shipment. We'll see here shortly, however I wouldn't get to worried if your status hasn't changed.

Mine still just shows "Expected Ship Date: 10/14/2011" and no charge.

Ordered Friday around 10AM Eastern.

Anyone else order around that time or later that day that has already been charged and received shipping notice?

Is there a way to track when everyone ordered and their card charge and ship notification status?

Kind of like someone did for the last MBA's release to track the LCD and SSD stats?

EDIT: Just spoke with them and they did confirm that everything is in the system and nothing is wrong that'd hold things up. He said I "should" get it on Friday since I ordered on the 1st day in the AM but that they don't charge until they ship and I still haven't been charged for them.

He also said he's hearing that delivery will be on the 21st for those that didn't make it into the first order batch.

my card hasn't been charged yet either. i ordered through VZW website (new customer transferring from AT&T to begin new family plan) on 10/7 at 11pm EST. Tried the fedex tracking trick and it doesn't work for me.

If you ordered after 6p on October 7th, then you likely will not be in the first round. They said they generally cutoff around 6p ET.

I have the same status, I got an email from Verizon this am but the tracking number doesnt show anything in the UPS system yet. I bet it will get updated later today or tomorrow. I am stoked for my first iPhone though, cant wait to get it. UPS typically delivers later in the day right?

Tracking worked!

Got my tracking info to work using the following shortcuts with FEDEX:

1. Go To Fedex.com
2. Click on Track by reference
3. Put in the following for reference number:

NXXXX01_0000XXXX2 (Location number, underscore, order number)

order number has to be 9 digits long, so put 0's in front of your order number to make it 9 digits.

4. Put in your country, and zip code its being shipped to
5. You will have tracking info

This worked great for me. My order number was only 5 digits long, prefixing it with four 0's showed my status on FedEx. The only tracking now is just this:

Oct 12, 2011 2:10 AM Shipment information sent to FedEx

Anyway, getting excited - this will our first iPhone for my wife and I.

EDIT: Ordered 10/7 @ 12:15am PT, two white 16GB, delivery to California.

My iPhone 4S 32GB (White) ordered for a Verizon family plan on Friday morning via Apple.com shipped last night at about 2 am! Woohoo! As of a few hours ago it was in Cheek Lap Kok with an estimated delivery of Friday.

Unfortunately something came up and I am going to be out of town on Friday (nooooooo). If I let them make one delivery attempt and fail, I wonder how likely it is it will be available for me to pick up Sunday from a UPS depot (or if they'll even be open). I might not get mine till Monday (damn).
