I did use the preorder confirmation number, which is the longer number than the 4 digit one, and it gives me this same stupid error.

I wonder if they're in the process of processing your order. A couple other users reported seeing their order disappear from the system right before getting shipping confirmation. Just a thought....

I've had this from the start, never did I get a processing order message or anything like that. Well at least the call to Verizon confirmed that I will indeed get one, and my credit card has been charged.
 
Apple's shipped my order, but hasn't charged me. It's kind of weird, actually.
 
So it's been 12 hours since I got the e-mail from verizon saying my credit card was declined, in which I immediately called verizon, had them process my payment again, and had it worked.

My order status is stuck on:
"We received your order and it is in process. Payment not taken yet. Expected Ship Date: 10/21/2011"

Sigh. Head down. Cry.
 
I ordered a black 16GB at around 5AM on the 7th. This afternoon my order status changed to show this:

However, they hadn't charged my debit card. A pending charge just came in for $209.99.. I'll be looking for a shipping email and tracking number from Verizon soon :D!

Was told that if there is no shipping change by the end of us Wednesday or thursday morning it is possible that there could be delays.
 
Got my tracking this morning (5:30 ET) I'm in NY. Shipping via UPS. Weird. Ups doesn't have anything up yet, doubt it has been picked up from wherever it is (it's just after 6 now)

Got my tracking info to work using the following shortcuts with FEDEX:

1. Go To Fedex.com
2. Click on Track by reference
3. Put in the following for reference number:

NXXXX01_0000XXXX2 (Location number, underscore, order number)

order number has to be 9 digits long, so put 0's in front of your order number to make it 9 digits.

4. Put in your country, and zip code its being shipped to
5. You will have tracking info

Same here. I'm guessing it will be two day shipping and should show on their site later today. BTW, ordered the 16 black about 3:15am ish EST on Friday, 10/7.

Just got an email last night saying my order is on hold because of credit card authorization problem. I called the credit card company and they said they are not even seeing an attempt at charging it. Got to wait until 8a for the internet sale department to open to see what's going on. I hope this doesn't delay my Friday arrival date.:mad:

No, go to your original email from verizon, you take exactly what they gave you for location number, then put an underscore, then put a 9 digit order number so if your order number is 5 numbers long, put 4 0's before it. that should be it.

some location numbers are all numbers, mine happened to have a N as the first character.

Nope, nothing popped up for me. Oh well I am sure I will get an shipping confirmation later today as well as a tracking number. They charged my account and my order status changed early afternoon yesterday. It is only 0633EST so I imagine they just started shipping them out.

For ups try track by reference and put the following for reference number:

NXXXX010000XXXX20101 (your location number, 9 digit order number, then 0101 at the end.

not sure if it works for mine is being shipped by fedex, but thats the notes i was given.
