Seems kind of expensive to pay Verizon $45.00 a month for a voice and data plan for an additional line, when your only using it for voice. Going to see about what other carriers offer, only need a voice plan. Perhaps this no longer exists.
[doublepost=1544660370][/doublepost]This is what I am being told by verizon.

“Lynn: Thank you I checked this for you per E-SIM policy, and it looks like it will incur charges as if it is a new line if you do activate the E-SIM! And it will also assign a new number when we activate it. I am sorry that this may not be the outcome you were looking for!”

Most reps don’t know what they are talking about regarding esim. I got a lot of my information from reddit regarding how people were getting it done.

Here is a link to a post on reddit from a rep that works on the tech support chat. His name is Tmtrademarked on reddit. You can see his post on how the rep can complete this process. This is actually the guy that did mine for me.

I don't want to be that guy...

I'm just giving you crap though. A spelling/grammatical error on a large corporation press release is in a whole other league compared to a message board post.

That was an obvious joke.

Also discovered you have to turn on cellular data switching if you want to use data while on a call. eSIM cannot do data and call simultaneously; it reverts to the other SIM for data.

Really? This would make an esim useless for me.

For those of you with a voice/data plan on an esim, are you experiencing that simultaneous voice and data does NOT work with that one carrier? If you answer, please state what carrier you are using?

What carrier are you with now? If AT&T, move that line to the eSim and get a regular sim from where ever. Prepaid works fine this way...…

Ah no. I'm using Total Wireless right now (a Verizon MVNO). I'd like to use my eSIM for my primary provider so when I travel abroad I can use a local number with a physical SIM.

I am on Verizon, just called my office desk phone from my cell, and was able to browse web sites while on the call over LTE.

I was able to successfully move my existing Verizon wireless physical sim to an esim but no luck with customer service through the Verizon website, I used their twitter account and they were able to set it up for me.
