thats what i am prepared for lol
LAME LAME LAME
WHAT IS THE POINT OF A 3AM START TIME!! SOME OF US WORK, AND AREN'T JUST HANGING AROUND WITH COLLEGE BUDDIES PLAYING VIDEO GAMES.
This is just stupid. It'd be easier to be west coast. Then you just have to stay up to midnight.

The point is, it's 12am on the west coast, which means everyone in the US orders at the same time on the approved day.
It will still be the day before in Alaska and Hawaii...
and i was being quite liberal with the 10 AM time.. I clicked and filled out the damn page nonstop the whole day and got my order in at around 6:30 pm, barely in time before the preorders were sold out.
I'd do it again (and will soon hopefully). its annoying but it kind of adds a certain excitment to it i must say..

As someone in the UK..I am amazed at the amount of news coverage this gets .a phone has moved to a new carrier, er is this news? Its probably got more column inches than the mass protests in Egypt..a sense of perspective required people?
-Covenant.
Jeez 3am? Why can't they just do 12AM Eastern standard time.....well I guess that would give Californians a distinct advantage but still. Well hard working adults double up on coffee and Highschool students with "ADD" double up on your amphetamines!
Well, first off, this is an English website with a large American demographic. There is plenty of case for good coverage of a UK carrier change, but other changes around the world are less relevant to the audience. As someone in the UK..I am amazed at the amount of news coverage this gets….a phone has moved to a new carrier, er…is this news? I don't know the answer to this question, but a theory occurs to me: If they publish it at 3 AM it will result in less traffic on their servers than would have been the case if they published during peak hours, thus it is less likely that their servers will go down, creating an embarrassing footnote to their assurances that they are completely ready for iPhone demand.WHAT IS THE POINT OF A 3AM START TIME!!

Second, this is an Apple rumors website. What is taking place in Egypt is indeed an item of interest to the tech community, but it is far less relevant to this site's coverage than the Verizon iPhone release.
Third, the Verizon release is of great importance to the company and stockholders, and it is also of particular interest to many readers as this will be the thing that places the iPhone head-to-head with Android on the other top United States carrier. Many people are very interested in that for a variety of reasons, whether worthwhile or not.
This is exactly the sort of thing which deserves regular coverage.
I don't care because I'm not buying one, but I understand the decision to emphasize this event.
I got the e-mail invitation, but when I click on the link, it says "webpage not found". Oops.
And they still haven't said whether the phone will ship right away or if we still have to wait for it to ship until 2/10. If the latter, then it's not such a good deal for "loyal customers" since we'll have to wait an extra day anyway to actually GET the phone. Might as well just stand in line at the store since the website is probably going to crash anyway!
What does it begin? Congested network?
