just to give u guys an idea before celebrating.if you have a family of 5 your bill will be 295 a month.

it's 200 a month over at T-Mobile and they give you 150 gift card for every line you bring over!
Some of us choose Verizon for the network quality. Sitting here in my office, I get 5 bars on Verizon and 1 on T-Mobile. In my apartment, I get 1 with T-Mobile and 4 with Verizon. In other parts of this building, elevators included, I get full service with Verizon and none with T-Mobile. I really wanted to switch, so when work adopted them as a test, I got T-Mo right away. Sadly, their network is still not nearly as built out, and Verizon is worth the extra money. I live right outside Chicago, in a city of 200,000 for what it's worth.

Just had to double check the calendar to make sure it's not April Fool's Day.

At first I thought it meant it was $80 for unlimited data, but then saw it includes talk and text as well. So by my understanding, for me being on a solo plan I could get unlimited talk text and data for JUST $80 a month? That hardly seems true. What's the catch?

Tethering is limited to 10 GB/month.

My unlimited Sprint plan is $60 + plus Iphone 7 Plus EIP comes to $100. Verizon's plan alone would be close to that not including an Iphone.

1 million in churn for a single quarter will have a carrier do a lot of things.
Agreed. I made the comment about Shammo because he took over as CFO in Nov 2010, and within 30 days of that appointment: (1) UL data was stripped out of new contract options, (2) VZW started charging for every little thing, (3) VZW fired all of their in-store tech support staff and a few other bits that made working with them difficult - I have corporate accounts with them since 2006 too…

Funny, seeing him retire less than 45 days ago and here we are with UL data options again…

IMHO Shamwow's business practices are the reason for that churn… Cheers!

I have two lines on AT&T's now-defunct 20GB Mobile Share plan. With a 25% corporate discount (phones are paid off), my total monthly bill is around $118, including all fees and taxes. My employer also offers a 19% discount with Verizon; unfortunately, as has already been mentioned, Verizon is not accepting corporate discounts for the unlimited plan. Since my wife and I each use about 8GB of data per month, I'll stick with AT&T and save myself the $40 a month.

The One Signal findings was as followed:

In the just-released OpenSignal State of Mobile Networks: USA report T-Mobile and Verizon rate as the top two networks. The two companies tied for the top spot in both 4G download speeds and overall download speeds. Verizon took first place in "Latency: 4G" and "Availability: 4G" while T-Mobile won for "Latency 3G" and "Availability: 3G." Neither AT&T nor Sprint took first place in any category.

While I believe T Mobile and C Spire should be credited in pushing ATT and now Verizon into the (capped) unlimited game again...

But your mileage may vary depending on location

For many years I've been using unlimited data plan. It annoys me greatly when iOS requires me to connect Wi-Fi to do backups or d/l some large app. Please allow me to live Wi-Fi free.

Yeah do that then you'll have a lot of people complaining how they are going over their data plans to back up. Blaming Apple for allowing that and their carrier

what phone? you need to get the latest cells with band 12 working to take advantage of T-Mobile new 700mhz spectrum.

I'm on Verizon now and my co workers switched to T-Mobile and hit 115 MPs speeds where my Verizon can't break 30

It's very expensive!, we have here in Spain 25Gb for 32€ (34$) with 4G, unlimited calls and tethering included (No phone included).

While your gas or some other products/services are more expensive than what they are in US.

iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7 EDGE. I believe the 700mhz spectrum in Chicago was having some trouble, when I read back a few months ago.

The issue is not speed for what it's worth, more reliability. I can get 80-90mbps on 1-2 bars, but when I get no service in buildings frequently, it's a much bigger problem.

Lol so true. There's always someone from Europe chiming in to say "FULL BUFFET DATA $3/month!" That's not how this works. Your country is tiny.

No corporate discount on the new unlimited plan, i currently get a percentage off.
They are a for profit company and want to, well, maximize profits. I don't know why everyone is in stunned disbelief that discounts don't work on this plan. It's a good value as is.

Hrmm.

So like $160 for 2 lines on family plan?

Right now my wife and I share like 16gb? of data, she tends to go over on her data often ... With gov't employee discount, we pay around $130 a month.

Pretty sure there is no employee discount of any kind on the new unlimited data plan.

So is being "de-prioritized" at 22gb than "throttled" by other carriers? Have original unlimited Verizon data/hotspot and this is intriguing sure; albeit I use ~40-50gb/month...

This really stabs at ATT since it doesn't require DIRECTV ..

de-prioritized should mean that if you're the only one connected you'll get full speed. But where is the choke point? The tower, or further up-stream? If I could get full speeds in the middle of the night well above 22G/mo I'd consider this.

I usually get a 18% discount from being a state employee but it doesn't apply to the new unlimited plan!

Not surprising or a cost saving...will just stick with the my current UDP.

Looks like I'm stuck with My grandfathered att udp for now, it will cost me for the installment plan 800 to get out of it and than I can't even use the 7plus on Verizon ... easier to keep current set up I guess , would of loved to get on the best network

I will give AT&T a couple months to see if they add tethering.. if not, i might be switching to Verizon. AT&T just upped the cost of the grandfathered plans agin as well. Not looking good for AT&T.

Limited unlimited.

That language is as bad as fake news or alternative facts. I wish we could just call a spade an F*ing spade.

It's not unlimited and they're lying.
It is unlimited data. Just because you and many others here want to rant and rave about it not actually being unlimited, doesn't change the black and white words in the tos, no matter how hard you and others try to spin this.

If you don't like the plan, don't subscribe. Real easy.

The Verizon plan is truly unlimited. Verizon does not cut your service off after 22GB of phone data has been reached nor do they charge any overage fee if you or anyone else on your plan goes over 22GB. The reason that that doesn't happen, is because the plan is unlimited. That means that you and those on your plan can use over 22GB of phone data a month. Verizon will (if need be) temporarily de-prioritize a subscriber, if he or she is trying to access a congested tower with consumed data being over 22GB. If the subscriber is accessing the needed tower(s) and there is no congestion, said subscriber(s) will enjoy full phone data signal strength.

In addition to the plan being unlimited phone data, said plan also offers unlimited tethering every month. The first 10GB will be LTE quality. After 10GB has been used, the subscriber(s) will be throttled to 3G tethering speed.

People need to read the terms of service, instead of regurgitating bad information read here and elsewhere, from some who prefer to read into the terms of service what isn't there.
