Good god you Americans are getting it in the #2 when it comes to mobile.

I get 200Mbps 4G/LTE unlimited for 34.99€ (~42$) / month with no throttling or data caps of any kind + unlimited calls + sms.

Pfft. Don't even look at Canada.

"Beyond Unlimited" Jesus. Call it "infinity plus one" or something equally as stupid next time. Now that you're here, where are you going to go?

So now we get be MetroPCS customers for $5 less or $5 more a month labeled as Verizon. Lovely.

We need to get those satellites launched asap. This communications pinch is only going to get worse.

This is why I've been arguing for monthly data limit plans!! Unlimited is always a lie.

At least with set monthly data plans, carriers don't typically play these games because they want you to go over your limit and be hit with fees, so they let you stream at the highest resolution possible.

I pay for 15GB/month, and I am free to use those 15GB however I want (mostly). In many ways, my "limited" plan is less limited than these so-called "unlimited" plans. No limits on streaming resolution. No throttling of the monthly allotment.

I don't want these unlimited plans, not any of them. T-Mobile is no better than the rest in this regard.

Just let me buy X amount of data transfer, and that's it.

And yet, we will just pay. We'll even line up to pay $1000+ for a phone that might have 3 tangible differences to the one we already own AND sign up for such services. We'll gripe & whine & threaten & (pretend to) rebel & so on... but then sign on the dotted line and reward such behavior.

If, as a group, we decided that we will not pay for any such plan, all plans would get more competitive trying to lure us back. But we don't do that. We just pay. And thus, we get what we readily pay for.

Do you hear the iphone ring?
Ringing the tones of angry men?
It is the ringtone of the people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the video on demand
There is a life about to start
On the LTE Band!

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the Verizon Bill
Is there a world you long to see....

IMO, Verizon should just raise its price and just offer a TRUE UNLIMITED plan with no caveats. Offer one unlimited plan at $90 without all these BS terms. We dont all have Verizon plans for price, we do it for quality! Give us the Gold Standard!

I like T-Mo and all, but their coverage doesn't cut it for me. I've switched back to AT&T and happy I did.

However, the biggest kicker is that Verizon says, moving forward, HD video on all legacy plans will match Beyond Unlimited's HD quality. In other words, even grandfathered customers will soon be limited to video quality of 720p on smartphones and 1080p on tablets, which is sure to elicit some frustration.

"We're doing this to ensure all customers have a great experience on our network since there is no visible difference in quality on a smartphone or tablet when video is shown at higher resolutions," a Verizon spokesperson said.

Wow, that sucks. Glad I'm with AT&T now. I can't imagine how any phone manufacturer, or internet streaming companies like YouTube and Netflix, are cool with this. This effectively devalues any phone with 1080p or higher resolution. Personally I like being able to stream in 1080p on my iPhone 7 Plus, whether or not I'm on WiFi.

Wait what? T-Mobile's customer service is consistently ranked the highest and I've had outstanding service from them - far better than I could ever dream about with AT&T. My downloads speeds are also a lot better than what I had with AT&T.

Their accessibility is AMAZING... the number of times I've needed to contact them, not so amazing. They have serious flaws in their billing system and their training. I have 6 lines, I don't think one of them was set up properly where I didn't have to contact customer service to fix and I was given a lot of misinformation when I inquired about the specifics of promotions, adding/removing lines, etc. That said, the service in my area has been more than adequate and I'm saving a TON of money.

I'm currently on grandfather unlimited plan paying $50 a month. I'm thinking it might be time to bail onto the currently unlimited plan, not the ones offer tomorrow.

I am still grandfathered in on the original truely unlimited ATT data plan for the ipad. I will never let it go. They do throttle speeds a bit under heavy use...but its great not having to worry about going over a data limit ever.

That settles it for me. I had hoped they would try to compete with T-Mobile on unlimited pricing. That's obviously not going to happen, so I'm switching with the next iPhone.

This is why I've been arguing for monthly data limit plans!! Unlimited is always a lie. - Care to share how unlimited is a lie? Are they saying you have unlimited data and then shutting you completely off at 22GB? Are you able to use 50GB? 100GB? 250GB? Yep. You are, therefore it is unlimited.

No throttling of the monthly allotment. -
Last time I checked there is no throttling on the monthly allotment. Its called deprioritization, which is MUCH different than throttle.

Thanks for playing! o_O
