LOL. Ill be over at T-Mobile on my $70/month unlimited everything plan with HD.

I've been happy with T-Mobile for two years. Right now I'm getting 40.2 Mbps down and 29.7 up. At home, maybe half that (but I'm usually on wifi at home). I think the biggest issue with T-Mobile is their inconsistency in certain areas. These locations are less than 10 miles apart. I must admit, though, that their coverage has gotten a lot better during those two years.

Prior to that, it was AT&T for me. Besides higher cost and less-inclusive plans (at the time I switched as well as between the two today) it worked out very well in my favor.

Good god you Americans are getting it in the #2 when it comes to mobile.

I get 200Mbps 4G/LTE unlimited for 34.99€ (~42$) / month with no throttling or data caps of any kind + unlimited calls + sms.

But is your home internet data capped? I know it is for many in Europe.

So basically the new bottom tier is garbage and Verizon increased the existing plan by $5 per month. Tmobile must be loving this.

I don't see anything "unlimited" about these plans. These wireless companies are just flat out lying.

Thats not hard to do when your entire home country of Finland is about the size of California and only has a population of 5.5 million. Verizon covers the entire US and has 146 million SUBSCRIBERS. That's right, they have 26x the amount of subscribers as your country has people. I don't even like Verizon (I was with them for 10 years and now am on T-mobile) but your comparison is ridiculous.

I use 4G/LTE _as_ my home connection because there's no sense in having a landline anymore (even at its worst I'm getting 100Mbps on speedtest which is more than enough for our whole family)

But what happens when you leave your house? How can your computers still be connected?

But they get healthcare and education included.

Yet they are taxed more and earn less overall. Nothing is free.

Might want to try one line first. T-Mob is great when it works. But it doesn't work in a lot of places. Forget about using it in the back of big stores, rural areas or even moderately populated ones off the interstate like the panhandle of FL. ATL is spotty even though it has a lot of interstates. And building anywhere -- just cross your fingers. I wanted to like TMob but feeling frustrated now. This news about VZW makes it worse because it's a real Hobson's Choice at this point.

Truth. I wanted to like TMo but had just enough minor annoyances at the back of stores and such. It actually wasn't THAT bad, but the couple of rural areas I travelled to that lacked coverage was enough for me to cancel my trial line. And their CS is NOT as good as VZW in my personal experiences. I'm waiting until they get their 600 deployed in FL to try out again.

C'mon people. The FCC understands. This is to fund all their FIOS TV build out to deliver Fiber Optic TV and services to the USA. OH WAIT. They stopped that after the FCC allowed them just just spend money in RICH neighborhoods.
Bush started the VERIZON beast expansion, but Obama loved them long time too, so a lot of blame to go around. Verizon has strategically decided that they are positioned with better FCC frequencies over Sprint, ATT, & T-mobile for a long time in the future as per the recent FCC auctions of spectrum space. T-Mobile is the one to watch for the future. They bought a LOT of US TV channels going out of service in the next 5 years. Until then...

What does all this mean? THEY DON'T GIVE A ****! YOU NEED THEM MORE THAN THEY NEED YOU!

I get where you're coming from, but wouldn't that increase in subscribership help offset the cost of upgrading a bigger country? Finland is 130,666 square miles in area while the US is 3,796,742 square miles, which is just over 29x the area of Finland. Verizon should have enough money to improve its infrastructure. Maybe not exactly as fast as Finland's

I switched to T-Mobile in February and honestly haven't noticed a bit of difference from AT&T.

Except my monthly bill, which is saving me ~$30 per month over what my old unlimited plan with AT&T cost me.

I'm currently on grandfather unlimited plan paying $50 a month. I'm thinking it might be time to bail onto the currently unlimited plan, not the ones offer tomorrow.

I have that same impression.
The issue I have is that my line access fees will go up to $40 for two months until I'm off contract.
I'm going to see an increase in my grandfathered plan after two months if I want to stay anyway.
I'm under contract so I never saw the $20/line increase.
I kind of have a lose-lose.
So I might as well take the $80 hit for two moths since I've been getting $10 data for 6 years or so.
I go a $20/line promotion ~six years ago that is good until 2038. Not sure if it will transfer to the new plans.
Probably not. Oh, well..

Still on my 4-line 12GB XL plan, with 8 bonus GBs of data, plus carry over data. We never come close to using it all, so we end up getting like 4GB Carry over. All this is cheaper than the unlimited plans still. I see no reason to ~upgrade~ downgrade from it to (Un)Limited. And I don’t get throttled, nor have a limit on my Tethering, and I hope I still get 1080p video as we’re on a super legacy plan compared to the previous unlimited plan, but probably not because VZW is a bunch of criminals who don’t give a sh*t about you.

This is why I've been arguing for monthly data limit plans!! Unlimited is always a lie. - Care to share how unlimited is a lie? Are they saying you have unlimited data and then shutting you completely off at 22GB? Are you able to use 50GB? 100GB? 250GB? Yep. You are, therefore it is unlimited.

No throttling of the monthly allotment. -
Last time I checked there is no throttling on the monthly allotment. Its called deprioritization, which is MUCH different than throttle.

Thanks for playing! o_O

One of the guys on my account hit 59 GBs this month. Most of his use is in small towns and he is never throttled. I was on vacation this weekend and used almost 20 GBs in the space of 4 days without having to worry about anything. My previous Verizon family plan was 20 GBs total for barely less money per person. There is no place on this planet where that is a better deal than their current Unlimited offering.

Oh, and we are paying $40/line plus whatever phone payment each person chooses to have. By far the best phone service I have gotten for an extremely reasonable price.

"Oh hey. Too many people hopped on to our latest promotion. Time to cut their quality and make new promotions."

- Verizon, AT&T, etc.

To further elaborate on the ridiculous comparison the entire population of Finland couldn't even fill up NYC.

Hey it could be worse, like here in Germany i get 6 GB LTE for 39 Euro but only bc i get a discount from work. Otherwise it would have been 54 Euro without a phone!

The most i have seen is a 15 GB plan.

Edit: i just noticed Telekom offers unlimited for 200 Euro a month or 5 € per day here
