Any tips on what might be the best way to upgrade my phone and not increase the cost of my plan? I currently have the older "The New Verizon Plan (Medium)", and my bill is about $65 per month ($50 plan + $20 line + employee discounts). If I want to upgrade with the $800 trade-in for my XS, I will also have to upgrade my plan to one of the Unlimited plans and pay at least an extra $20 monthly. I'd prefer not to do that, especially when I don't really care to have 5G. Sticking with 4G is good enough for me.

Is my only option to buy the phone at full cost and swap the SIM card? I'm fine with that, but wish I could at least get a decent trade-in value without having to upgrade my plan. Should I wait until Black Friday deals?
Just sell the phone on your own, otherwise you’ll have to calculate the cost of the trade-in against your current plan and the new unlimited plans, then after the training is over you have to see if it’s worth it to pay the extra price, if I were you I would just sell your phone locally on your own and get the best value for cash. I have a 12 promax with the Verizon unlimited plan their offer me $1000, but that means I’m locked in to the phone for two years, you can’t pay it off early or anything. I’m still on the phone on my own and hoping to get around 850

Was about to go to bed. Then I got an email from Verizon. Checked my FedEx app and boom!

Edit: Ordered at 5:01am

Same! Main reason why I am switching to 13 pro max is because of my battery. I travel A LOT for work, therefore my phone is constantly in use and charging. My battery capacity is in the 70% now and its extremely noticeable. My phone space also is almost capped, I have 21gb remaining. I went for the 13 1tb Gold Pro Max to alleviate all of these issues.

Nice. 256 is enough on my current phone but we will see on the new one. I really wanted the 512. Maybe next time. My battery life seems ok but it says it is 88 in health. But having even a even longer lasting battery will be nice and maybe not eat so much of the health!

You can check what they’re willing to give you on their website. As long as the phone turns on and in reasonably good shape, it will get accepted for what they state (there is no appraiser, it’s pass or fail). The most ideal situation is to always find a way to trade it in at the store. I believe if the customer rep decides to accept it, it’s never going to come back to bite you. Shipping it can be a tiny bit more risky, because there’s the chance it could get lost or damaged in transit, or they tell you there’s water damage, screen has been replaced w/ non-OEM, too many dents/scratches. At that point, they might reduce the value to $50.
Thanks, that's useful.

Order for my 256gb Sierra Blue 13 Pro shipped via UPS from CA, definitely the phone since it needs a signature.

Interesting that it’s coming from the west coast. In the past it’s always been from FedEx somewhere in PA (northeast based).

Same. In MA and mine is coming UPS from CA for the first time. Always been closer and through FedEx for me. Logistical mysteries.

iPhone SE 1st Gen (2016)? Verizon offered $400 for me with trade in towards the 13 Pro.
OUCH!!!! I got the Mini, I bet tradein money is based on what you're buying too.

Either way, I was shocked that I got anything. I hadn't even asked because it never showed up on the lists when I checked.

Pretty sure they don't offer the old plans anymore. I'm not switching to unlimited until I have to or I actually have a need for unlimited data.
Sad thing is, I don't think it was a very old plan. Seems like they've learned to switch them up frequently which pulls people into more expensive ones.

Ordered our two 13's around 2 pm Friday the 17th, order still being prepared, or something like that, same thing I saw on the Verizon site last Friday. :(

Six hours later...no updates, no joy. :( :(

Same timeline for me, but closer to 3pm. Mine still say preparing. Mine's a Mini though and I was just thinking, it seems like the bigger phones are starting to ship, not the Mini's?

I'm scheduled for 2 day shipping, so as long as it ships by Wednesday I should be good. I also got an iPad but that is due to SHIP on the 24th.

I have a Fedex store near me - anyone know if I can redirect it there? Last time I had to go to the hub which is a pain to get to. Otherwise I'll be staring out my window for Fedex all day.

Got shipping info, didn’t even realize. Ordered as soon as they went live. Pro Max in Blue, 512gb.

Anyone else get notification from UPS for a 2lb delivery from Coatsville PA? Not sure if its the actual phone or the tradein kit.

Preordered the Sierra Blue 13PM up front.

Got $1000 trade in value on bill credits over 24 months or whatever for the 11PM.

Total cost $199+tax.

🤷‍♂️. The deals haven’t been this good since Verizon gave me $700 for an iPhone 7 against an X.
No kidding! Got $1k for my 12P and used $15 device dollars for a 13P. Tax and activation will run me $130. The downside is I forfeit $270 in monthly credit from my last upgrade...

We didn’t get on to preorder till Friday afternoon so ours won’t be till Oct 1 according to Verizon. Gold 256 13 Pro Max

Hoping it’ll show up sooner but yeah.
I didn't get around to it until yesterday, mine is 10/1 as well for Silver 13P 128.
