It might be elsewhere in thread but.. Does Verizon email you when order ships with shipping info or do you have to continually check status online? Thanks

I received an email with the tracking number when the order shipped. However, for one of my orders (the accessories), I did not receive any tracking info or confirmation. I had to chat with customer service to confirm that the order was in their system.

It turned out to be the first order to be delivered, even though I didn't receive any tracking info or confirmation other than my credit card getting charged.

I am still learning my way around the "no home button". It's only been a week. I'm doing ok for the most part but there is still a little cursing 😂

Don't forget the old "There is a problem with your order. Click here to change your payment method"

The iPad... I'd pre-ordered a Mini and an iPad. There was some sort of discount for two. Then when I had the payment issue, the jerk on the phone cancelled my pre-order (without my permission). I was in the store at that point and the lady helping me was way up on the food chain on the phone. It was not a fun time. We all agreed that both the phone and the ipad had been cancelled, couldn't see them online or in the app. I went home, called Verizon, and they agreed. They said best thing to do was go on launch day and buy them outright.

Next morning I get an email saying "thank you for your order". Thinking they had figured out how to reinstate my pre-order, I looked and low and behold, there were two iPads on the account: the original one I'd pre-ordered that no one could see the day before, and a new one. Apparently the store manager did that one after hearing my story from the lady who helped me the day before. No idea why he didn't do a phone too, but it didn't matter since it was another pre-order and I was still going to the store to purchase. I then spent 3 hours on the phone (6 people)

Launch day, they manage to cancel the original iPad. I think it was after I got home that I realized the second iPad was still there. I'm really hoping it clears itself out tomorrow, this is getting annoying. When I click to review T&C, all I get is a page with a place to put my CC info. The only redeeming issue that it has the details showing that I will get an .83 credit on my account monthly for the iPad after discounts, so of course I printed that out to deal with when (if) the bill settles down.

First time I've bought from Verizon. I don't want to ever do this again but the trade in the old SE was too high to ignore.
Ha!

Never.

Verizon always has a “discount” if you purchase an Apple Watch or iPad with your iPhone. I had a pre-order cancelled without my permission too! It was not a fun time.

The trade in deals were ridiculous this year. I have a feeling it has a lot to do with the 3G CDMA Network Shut off date set for December 31, 2022.
Since 2016, we have stated publicly that we are actively decommissioning our 3G CDMA network. Initially, we announced we would close down our 3G network in 2019. However, we extended our shut off date - first to the end of 2020 and now to the end of 2022 - in order to care for our customers and give them every effort to minimize disruptions to their service as they move to newer and more advanced technologies.

We worked for the past several years to help those who still have 3G devices transfer to devices capable of accessing the 4G LTE or 5G networks and continue to actively work with remaining 3G customers to migrate them to new devices and technology. As a result of those efforts, we can now report that more than 99% of our customers are using the enhanced features of 4G LTE or 5G, with less than 1% still accessing the 3G network.

We’ve already communicated to customers that we are no longer allowing devices that are not 4G LTE capable to be activated on our network, so the focus now is the smooth migration of the remaining 3G devices in the market onto 4G LTE or 5G capable products and services.

Customers who still have a 3G device will continue to be strongly encouraged to make a change now. As we move closer to the shut off date customers still accessing the 3G network may experience a degradation or complete loss of service, and our service centers will only be able to offer extremely limited troubleshooting help on these older devices.

We will turn off the last of the 3G CDMA network on December 31, 2022, months after our competitors have shut off their networks completely. The date will not be extended again.
Move as many customers to 5G while collecting all the 4G devices to offer them to those who are still using a 3G device for as little as possible in an effort to simply retain them as a customer.

No, this was a horrendous couple of weeks and it's still not done!

Good theory on the 3G. I was traveling in a rural area recently and saw 1x and 3G there, wonder what will happen there.

My SO got an iPhone May 2019 when his Motorola flip phone broke and he couldn't get his spare activated. Apparently it would have continued to work on the network if it hadn't broken but they wouldn't allow new ones. He got the XR and we're thinking about upgrading him too. We should but I still have PTSD.... I'm hearing even if we miss this deal there will be others coming up, like Black Friday.

Hey did they change you to the higher priced unlimited plan? We were on a shared unlimited for $90 and when I did the pre-order they moved me to a $70 one and him to a $60 one, and have told me that with loyalty credits it will be the same price. Of course I can't see this because my bill is a disaster.

I don't really care about the 5G but I *do* love the Mini :)

My 10/8 order changed Friday to update soon. I just got a confirmation update that my phones should arrive 10/6.

Next week, It'll get straightened out next week!

They will either replace the equipment with new equipment capable of 4G and or 5G, relocate it and upgrade it or remove it completely.

There will be other offers, but will they be this good?

As for plans, they're always trying to "upgrade" me. However, The wife, kids and I are on the highest tier unlimited plan, just an old one (includes access to 5G but was released prior and is the same ($65/mo) price as "Get More Unlimited 5G UW") so there is no benefit for me to update at the moment.

I pay $93.22/mo for my line alone. $17.99 in "add-ons" and the rest is surcharges and taxes and fees.

Add-ons:
- Global Calling Plus $15
- Call Filter Plus $2.99

What are "loyalty credits"? I want some of those!

My daughter loves the iPhone mini as well!

Just when you think the nightmare is over.... Verizon strikes again!

They have shipped the mystery iPad. The one I never ordered, but that the store did for some unknown reason. The one that needed terms and conditions agreed to. The one that wouldn't let me refuse T&C but they wanted payment info. None of which I gave. The one that Verizon assured me that if I did nothing by October 1, it would fall off my account.

THEY SHIPPED IT!!! 🤦‍♀️

My "next bill" has gone from ~$175 to ~$250 to $315 to $290 to $319

I am on autopay for the discount. They are demanding I pay $30 now. Looks like I'll be on the phone with them - AGAIN

You can't make this **** up

I've heard Black Friday deals are good but I've never done them.

I'm not really sure about loyalty credits. I think they replaced the employee discounts they used to give? Those are gone now... I think.

Also, they told me the trade in credit wasn't as good if you didn't switch plans. They switched my plans without telling me, but in the beginning it seemed like my bill was only going to go up about $30 which was about what I expected for the price of the phone.

That said, our old unlimited plan was also 5G. I don't even think we have that higher 5G in our area. but again I don't have the energy to deal with that until this other nonsense is resolved!

Wow!

So my second order would have shipped after all if it wasn’t cancelled without my permission. Good to know! I’m not complaining (too much) though considering I still have not been charged at all for my new iPhone.

I’m not sure if refusing delivery of the iPad would make the situation better or worse.

As I’ve said many times, Verizon's internal systems are a mess!

Wait… you’re an employee? This just took a turn I was not prepared for!

OMG NO!!! I am not an employee and after all this I'd never consider it haha!!!

Verizon used to give discounts if you worked at certain companies. You had to verify your employment every year. I'm pretty sure they replaced it with "loyalty discounts" in the past year or two. I'm also pretty sure I've never gotten that discount although they keep throwing it around.

I'm now wondering if I had ignored the request to change my payment method, I would have gotten my original pre-order. It's obvious now that they will send equipment without actual payment.

Though here's the thing. There was a $29 pre-payment due on the iPad, which I didn't want. They shipped it Oct 3 despite me having to accept/pay by Oct 1. Now that they've called it "mine", they not only want the $29 NOW but have assessed a late fee on my account because it wasn't paid prior to Oct 1. 🤦‍♀️ The rep I talked to today assured me she would remove all that.

She said they can intercept the package so that I never get it. I'm not holding my breath! I'm sure I won't see any change to my bill until the end of the week at best <sigh>

Oh, okay. The company I work for has a discount with Verizon.

Absolutely ridiculous!

Is that discount still active? I was told in the spring it wasn't. Or... was it only for certain plans? That was when we went from the S/M/L plan to unlimited

Had a false alarm a little bit ago -- UPS driver rang the doorbell, and I saw he had what looked to be two iPhone boxes in-hand (Ring camera app) and wanting a signature. I popped up and sped to the door thinking they were a day early. Nope! Just two return boxes

I had a government agency discount back when it was S/M/L plans, but when moving to unlimited it made it clear that it would not carry over. That’s why I waited so long before going to an unlimited plan. They might still do it for military/seniors/something else idk, but not for government at least.

After being stuck in Tennessee since last Tuesday, my iPhone 13 Pro was located yesterday. FedEx just dropped it off. This was after multiple chats and calls to both Verizon and FedEx. Both companies had tickets open and both promised to call me with updates. Neither one actually followed through.

In any case, I have my phone now, and I just need to get used to the slightly larger screen (vs. my XS).

Lucky! I was never able to change my payment method. Verizon sent me multiple texts and emails and they all failed. My account is still a royal mess from that fiasco!
Just seeing this, but have them cancel the order, and put in a new one through the orders department... Then get CS to do a jump the line form. Apparently, this is a standard thing for them in certain situations.

Wait, that sounds amazing. How do you get in touch with the Orders Dept?

haha I'm way beyond that now. Go search my posts in this thread. I'm STILL dealing with the fallout from that original mistake of theirs.

I have always had an unlimited plan since their introduction. I do have an active discount. However, Verizon's website has conflicting information.

Discounts by Verizon Wireless states you can get discounts on unlimited plans. Corporate employee discounts FAQs says you can't. Classic Verizon!

You can request to jump the line, but they will only approve it if Verizon is at fault.

So if they notice you cancelled the order and then had someone in the Sales Department create a new one, it's highly unlikely they'll approve it unless the issue has been well documented.

I've had jump the line requests approved more than once.

I'd recommend you call the sales department (1 (800) 225-5499) and immediately ask to be escalated. Once transferred, explain the issue, they may be able to expedite and or "fix" the initial order. Otherwise they'll cancel and recreate the order for you and you may not even have to ask to "jump the line" they'll offer to submit a request for you. If they don't, politely ask!

I was waiting for this! I'm sorry!

I made two orders on Sept 19th. One had an Oct 1st date and the other Oct 8th. The Oct 1st one got delayed and just arrived. Surprisingly, UPS left it on the porch without a signature. No movement on the Oct 8th one, and I expect it to get delayed too.

13PM Sierra Blue 128GB (Oct. 1st)
13PM Silver 128GB (Oct. 8th)

I just got a payment failure email for the oct 8th one, presumably declined for fraud detection. Went in with their link and used a different CC and I see the pending charge on the card, but the verizon page still says order on hold. Not sure if it will clear up on its own or what.

Ah yeah, those PM 128's are high runners. Hope they get the pmt stuff worked out! If they are doing that, then not long until you get it in.
