I looked up an old IPhone 7 in the any trade in ..in any condition clause and it is showing $0 and recycle only. IPhone 8 is showing the same. Guessing the any trade in has to have a & value

Not sure but Apple’s store is only showing Unlimited Ultimate and Unlimited Plus, which is really dumb. $1,000 for Ultimate, $820 for Plus. But spread out over 3 years which is absurd. Any older plan… who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️

It will give me 650 credit and then 360 in credit over 3 years

I'm tired of device payments, so I am skipping this year to pay off my current iPhone 14 Pro Max and paying full price for the 17.

Why would you do that? With 0% APR and carrier subsidies, you'll be loosing hundreds of dollars, unless you leave Verizon and sign up for some prepaid. When you do get "tired", you can pay in full (and loose money).

I still owe $360 on my iPhone 14 Pro so I would need to pay this off before I can upgrade to another phone, including (I assume) the iPhone 16 Pro. When I pay off my phone, is it still eligible for a trade-in credit? I'll probably pre-order the iPhone 16 Pro through Verizon (vs. Apple and using ACMI) but just want to make sure this is the best route to go.

I never trade in and pay off my devices at the start of the new year. Will say 1k offer is not bad for trade in but not being stuck on Verizon for 3 years to get my 1k back.

anyway can't wait to order new phone on Friday.

You can still pay it off early.

Yeah I tried that last year with an old (working) iPhone 4 I still have. Same thing, $0. Turns out the “any iPhone” was a lie.

FYI — if you’re on a device payment plan they includes a monthly discount (credits) from a previous trade-in, you will lose the remaining monthly credits if you pay it off early. They really want you to be paying them every month.

Looking at current deals the iPhone 7 qualifies if you are buying an S24 or Pixel but not for a 15. iPhone 4 even qualifies for those.

Maybe there will be a short 16 window qualifying for launch?

I would need to change plans but I could then at least switch to an Apple Music family plan.

Verizon is diabolical for making you do a 36 month term for phones. I’m on the 14PM and won’t get a discount if I get the 16PM despite having the 14PM for two years.
You don’t get a discount but you can still trade in your current phone, right? Because you’ve paid off 50%?

I'm skipping Verizon's nonsense this go around. I'd be forced into a more expensive plan that ends up costing me $20 more per month. For an extra $10 a month, and a two year plan versus three, I'll be trading in with Apple.

Agreed. I did the math. For me, it would increase my plan cost by around $40 a month and has less included plan benefits (such as the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle).

Looks like $1k off for 14 or newer if on the Unlimited Ultimate plan.

I was worried the trade-in offers would be restricted to the new (aka crappier) plans and it appears that was the case.

Where do you see iPhone 14 or newer? All I can find is this

$999.99 (128 GB only) purchase w/new or upgrade smartphone line on Unlimited Ultimate plan (min. $90/mo w/Auto Pay (+taxes/fees) for 36 mos) req’d. Less $1,000 trade-in/promo credit applied over 36 mos.; promo credit ends if eligibility req’s are no longer met; 0% APR. For upgrades, phone must be active on account for 60 days prior to trade in. Smartphone trade-in must be from Apple, Google or Samsung; trade-in terms apply.

Dumb question but after reading though apples site and ordering through Apple on the Verizon payment plan do I trade the phone into Apple or Verizon. It seems like it says Apple but seems odd to me

So when it says this, I pay the $233.26...then I can trade the phone in for the promo pricing/credit, I am good? Or do I have to pay off the entire device in order to even be eligible for the promo prices on the unlimited plans? Thanks!

Apple. Why does that seem odd?

You’ll pay the $233.26, return the phone, and then they’ll dismiss the balance.

I just assumed to get the remaining 350 credit from Verizon over 3 years, like the Apple site says…I’d send it back to Verizon. My bad

Last year it was the new plans only IIRC
I am on the older Play More plans, and we were eligible for the the trade in credit promo last year. Seems like VZ changed it this year, unless they update the fine print between now and Friday.

Yea it’s the ultimate ultimate plan. T-Mobile changes their plan for max trade in to the Go5G plan

But can I use this phone for the trade in promo? Or the phone has to be 100% paid off?

For verizon can the phone be in any condition? I have an SE where the button does not work.

When you’ve ordered the promax model through Verizon does it back order very quickly I’m trying Verizon this year to do the order this year since they have great promotions going on. I just don’t want it and then it baclroders to November
