That's TOTALLY what it seems like. Waiting for my phone to start making the old dialup handshake tones. Maybe there's an app for that? ;-)

it doesnt appear to be doing it on my phone on 3g when i turn LTE off in the setings. i let my phone sit idle for 5 min. I will try it a little long later.

users on this thread say it does it for their 3g too. I wonder if they are turning their LTE off or just when their phone goes to 3g (with LTE still on) im testing this right now. will update in 5 min
*edit.. well my phone went back to LTE connection from 3g right before i was going to test it. lol

Just wanted to say I have a new iPhone 5 with Verizon LTE and I am experiencing the same problems in Augusta, GA, Evans, GA, and Aiken, SC. LTE is extremely slow. Can't use siri & just loading a web page seems slower than dial up. Turned off LTE but it does the same thing over 3G. Works fine on my home wifi.
Went to Verizon's site and sent an email (and included link to this forum). Hopefully they'll respond. I left AT&T (unlimited data) to move to Verizon so I could have LTE and now I'm moving slower than I ever was on AT&T---even on their old Edge network!

same problems? ours works just takes it 10-15 seconds to "start up" when its been "idle" then its super fast!
dont think the majority of us are having issues like yours.
I'm having the same problem in Tallahassee. Apps are timing out waiting for LTE to establish a connection. It happens on 3G as well. The thing that is really pissing me off though is that my LTE speeds are pathetic. I'm getting from 1-4 mbps download and I've tested it all over town. My wife's ip4 on 3G is getting 1.5-2 mpbps! WTH? And my home wifi is slow as well. I did a side by side of my home wifi with my original ipad, wife's ip4 and my new ip5 last night about 11 PM. The ipad and ip4 were both around 20 mbps while the ip5 came in at around 5 mbps. I did it multiple times with the same result. Someone screwed the pooch here and the fingers are all pointing directly at Apple. If they can't get this fixed before my return window closes, my relationship with the iphone may have to come to an end.

do you have low service? i get 4-6 with 1 bar of service. 2-3 bars i get 10-12. full service i get 35+
Fingers crossed that this issue may be getting resolved.
My phone sat idle for 10-15 minutes and I picked it up and unlocked the screen to load a site and expected to have the usual 10-15 second delay but it loaded instantaneously. I'm currently in Gwinnett County GA (NE Atlanta suburbs) and will try it from Midtown tonight.
im in gwinnett as well..works then goes back to not working then works again hmmm
I just noticed it this morning.. I was on WIFI most of the weekend. It seems fine now?
