Anyone else with a 9/26 order see anything other than the 'order is in process'? 16 GB black here.

Just go to the b2b.verizonwireless.com site, the under Orders, select View Order Status. Mine are still showing delivery on 9/21, but still awaiting inventory. Nothing more since. My business rep said that they should ship on 9/21, but I'm hoping he's wrong and the site is right.

No charges on my credit card except for several 1.00 pending (I'm guessing these are the pre-authorizations).

Has any business customer received a tracking number yet? (ordered for a business, via the business website)

No tracking number for me either on business side. Same message awaiting inventory with expected delivery date of 9/21. Not looking good at this point.
 
Man corporate at FedEx are being really strict with the iPhone 5 release by just keeping all these iPhone 5s stockpiled in Memphis. They must not really trust their world centers around the country. I think that it's a bad idea to move them all in 1-2 days.
 
Apparently the time did not have a lot to do with the processing and shipping. I ordered mine at 11:30am Friday and received tracking info long before people who were burning a candle at 3am (some still waiting for tracking).

I'm sure there was a cutoff from 9/21 to 10/5, but there doesn't seem to be any sequence to a 3am order to an 11am order.
 
Called and finally received a helpful answer. Lady said they are working until 3am to get the orders out. Mine will be charged and shipped tonight or tomorrow morning for a Friday delivery.

I also called Discover one more time to make sure they don't flag it as fraud. They said that the charge has already been authorized - it just hasn't been posted yet. She read off the amount of the purchase to me.

I'm thinking that I was already billed - it just hasn't posted and maybe they sent my phone but just have not updated my account information yet. I'm willing to trust her. First sigh of relief I've had!
 
I pay my kids' Verizon bill with my AmEx and I am switching myself over from AT&T to Verizon. I'm adding a line. I ordered a white 32g and AmEx STILL flagged my charge as fraud.

No prob, though. I called. They fixed it. My phone is on its way.

All is well.

That's weird. I called Amex right after my pre order because for some reason Amazon changed Ave to Av and I called Amex to see if there was going to be any issues. They said no and they must've made a note that I pre ordered the iPhone 5.

Only charged my card the $1.00 so far....
Status says processing, will ship the 26th.
 
Waiting 5 days (or 10 days, or 3 weeks) for an iPhone is NOTHING compared the LOOOONNNGGGGG wait between the announcement and my pre-order for the 2001 Titanium PowerBook and actual delivery. It's been a while so I don't remember all the details, but Apple used to quote things like "Ships in about a month" and "Early March" and other such nonsense. This iPhone waiting is nothing compared to those "bad old days". I believe the 500Mhz PowerMac took well over a year to ship after being announced (I've had many beers and not enough sleep since then, so some of you Mac historians are welcome to correct me).

But then it is easy for me to say that today because my two iPhone 5s have tracking numbers and are in that same loop in Memphis on their way to Kansas on Friday. I wish everyone good karma for their delivery on 9/21, 10/5 or whenever.

And same here. Order number 171XXX, location D771001, and no change since last Friday.

Exact same here: Location D771001, Order # 165XXX, in NYC, ordered around 3:03 am EST on 9/14, Verizon status still shows: We have received your order and it is in process, Expected ship date 9/21. $1 pending charge on CC, called VZ yesterday and they said everything looks fine. 64G white btw. I won't panic until tomorrow afternoon though.
 
I have Order Location: D106201. I received my confirmation email at 7am on the 14th saying delivers by the 21st. Does anyone have this Order Location and have they got any tracking info yet

I ordered right when Verizon started taking preorders. Mine still just shows "Your order has been sent for processing" with no tracking number on that status page, even though I received a shipment notification email from Verizon with my FedEx tracking number yesterday morning.

So it seems like the tracking number portion of that status page doesn't update very quickly, if it ever does.

My order status is the same...however, there is still a full business day before the orders can't make it to you for Friday delivery, so I wouldn't give up yet.

I feel bad for the folks working in customer care at Apple, Verizon, UPS, and FedEx with launches like these. Can you imagine fielding calls for 8 hours a day from people freaking out about where their phones are?

Think about the fulfillment process for a minute. Each major carrier has hundreds of thousands of phones to assign, label, and distribute in less than a week. They get orders starting Friday 9/14, and have to start generating labels and scanning barcodes. They each may have a few fulfillment centers around the US, each with a chunk of the order load. The way the order load is split up may mean that some orders are processed before others, even if they were placed later in the preorder window. It's likely that customer service doesn't have a view into where in the assignment/labeling/fulfillment queue your particular phone is, and even if they did, it may not be easy to figure out how long until tracking is available. By the time it's labeled and the database is updated, it could be Thursday afternoon or evening...but you could still get your phone on Friday.

So...I'm not worried about getting my phone on Friday until it's Friday afternoon and I haven't gotten either an update or a phone. :D Good luck to all!

On FedEx, it says that it will be here on the 21st, but if I check the status on Verizon, the expected ship date is the 20th. Should I be anticipating my phone for tomorrow? Btw, it's currently in Elizabeth NJ, which is a mere 20 minutes away from me!

This is my order location also (and approximately similar order time of 8:15am) and I have not yet received tracking info. That said, the CSR at Verizon I spoke with today advised that they are processing most of these overnight and possibly into tomorrow morning. If you don't see anything or get a confirmation email by 2pm eastern time on 9/20, then give them a call. That is what they advised just an hour or so ago.

Apple did the same thing with the iPad 3 pre-orders. Although those shipments showed originating in China before sitting in Memphis until the release date.
 
Ordered at 730am ET last Friday for a business account, the rep said I should get it the 21st, maybe even a day or two early.

The preorder.verizonwireless page earlier didn't show any expected ship date, but I just checked it again and now it shows shipping by 9/28. But the order status page (linked from the confirmation email) still shows "your order will ship by 9/21". So I don't think that their systems are all in sync.

I'm holding out hope that it ships tonight or tomorrow and gets to me on Friday...
