Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

Ok, here is the scoop. Just got off the line with internet sales. He told me straight forward in so many words that customer service (#611) is full of crap, my order was NOT cancelled, I did NOT get booted out of line, payment was taken and my phone is scheduled to ship out. He said as long as I ordered before 9 AM on 9/14 I will get the phone on Friday. I ordered a few minutes after 6 AM on 9/14. In fact my confirmation email is dated 9/14 6:03 AM.

So, if you are having trouble, everyone is right! Customer service is FULL of it! Call the internet sales number: 1(866) 338-7390

He informed me that customer service has no access to the ordering system, they only have access to the billing system. He said your order is on schedule, I promise, no worries! LOL

It's funny cause, before the number was posted on here, I had a VZW rep tell me initially to call internet sales because they knew next to nothing. I'm glad he was honest.

You think it'll come any sooner? My current phone broke so i'm phoneless until I get this one.

It's possible...Some folks will be canceling their orders in favor or waiting in line. I'm no expert here, but it could happen. If you have no other phone, you might want to consider waiting in line at your local Apple store (if there's on nearby). Although the in-store supply will be exhausted at some point, it will be replenished regularly.

Business Portal Update

My order status on the business portal has changed from awaiting inventory to pending!

Order was placed a little after 7am eastern on 9/14 and confirmation email received at 7:23am.

From what other people have said is that they won't do that till at least one failed delivery attempt.

It went in, out, in out last night and this morning but no update since 1:40am this morning. Come on FedEx just move it along a *little* more please!

Anyone's phone leave coatesville pa around 1pm today still waiting for an update where it will go next I'm only 2 hrs away and surprised it hasn't been scanned to a new location yet

My phone's been "in transit" for 21 hours now lol. I don't think we will see any real movement till tomorrow night.

I wonder though if this is Apple/Verizon saying so, or if FedEx is just doing it because they don't want 100's of people lining up at their warehouses at 8am on friday... I mean could you imagine if they where allowing it? I bet the lines there would be worse than the retail stores that day.

Probably the second one. I have a feeling UPS and FedEx just want the launch to be over.

Lol i have a bad habit of over tracking anything I order but in this case I just don't want Siri to be left on some trailer in a dock port she might get cold lol

I am in NOVA as well with shipping location D772001 and have yet for my status update to change. This is my first smartphone so I am really excited for the update. I am just so excited and nervous that there will be a problem. It seems like a lot of people with that shipping location have not been processed yet.

My card was charged today for the phone, after I received the tracking info. There was an authorization charge for a $1 on the 14th that disappeared the next day.

Delivery on Friday.

My 4s via FedEx I could. I think it's Verizons doing. A FedEx told me it was Verizon's doing but who knows if they were telling the truth

My ip5 was shipped out yesterday by verizon. it wil no doubt get to my city before friday because of it categorized as standard overnight shipping; however, verizon has put a "Future Delivery Request" on the shipment, meaning fed ex will hold it until Friday 9/21 for Delivery. Oh well, still excited, its almost here. btw, i preordered at 0130 mst on 9/14. I also pre ordered 2 from best buy for ATT, now that will be a completely different story knowing how best buy operates these events. good luck all.

Just noticed a change in the status of an order placed through the Verizon business website to "COMPLETED" within the last hour. Order was placed at 12:05am PST on 9/14. Still no tracking number.

I have to think that they are going to mass ship sometime tomorrow. Seeing all the tracking info that people posted, almost everybody has 1:40ish time on their last tracking record "in transit" so they must be in the same place waiting.

Ditto for me, mostly. I have been trying to read through all the comments here and realize that I ordered my phone early enough to be in the first batch, and being part of DD771001 I guess we're all getting a much later notification of shipment, etc. than the rest.

FINALLY, my "We received your order and it is in process." has changed to "Your order has been sent for processing." AND my Amex has been charged finally. Still no tracking number, or any more communications from Verizon, but now I'm hopeful that my 9:54am EST Friday 9/14 order will deliver by Friday (hopefully). (I thought being after 9am EST I'd not get my phone in the first round).

Also, side note, I am switching to Verizon from AT&T. And as proof of Murphy's Law, I was at the beach in Fire Island the other day dropped my already cracked 3GS, and the screen shattered, and I cannot even slide the "slide to unlock" now, so I have NO PHONE until this iPhone 5 arrives. I was waving the AT&T phone in the air trying to get service and it slipped out of my hand (Fire Island has notoriously bad AT&T but excellent Verizon service) - haha. It's been quite a chill few days without a mobile phone, but it will be VERY SWEET when that iPhone 5 arrives!

For those of you who are worried because you didn't get your confirmations, or your status didn't change on the Verizon status page - don't fret. Good things come to those who wait!! Just be THANKFUL you have a working phone. I can't even open mine :-(

FINALLY an update - Your order has been sent for processing. And a pending charge for the full $425 on my Discover. Can't wait until I get the tracking number. Hope has finally come back! I'm pretty sure I should get this on Friday.
