On a side note, the Spring website is STILL not sold out of 32GB or 64GB iPhones...crazy! Verizon is back to 2 weeks, ATT is 2-3 and Apple is 2-3.

Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

Card not charged / nor any auth. yet but, email confirmation!!!! Pre-ordered at 11:57pm before it even was supposed to start.
I like to know if this has happened to someone in the past... I pre-ordered my iPhone 5 around 4pm today over the phone. After the rep placed the order, its showed, "shipped by 9/28" But the sells rep told me on his side it showed "delivered on 9/21" He also told me my region of the united states must not of met its quota just yet and I should receive it next Friday... I guess my question is, Have any of you in the past received your pre-orders a week/few days earlier then the date shown?
you ordered over the phone where a VZW Rep gets credit for getting you into another two year contract. I am sure that you will get it on the 28th.

Use that to check your status. What ever is on there is what will happen. It shows order in process (I ordered 12:01 am PST) and that ships by 9/21. That just means that it will leave the warehouse on the 21st to get to my house.Verizon is just being extra cautious because customers can complain to them and after all they are the wireless carrier. If you say delivers by 21st and it doesn't then people may demand some credit.
Oh in that case you may get it on the 21st. I mean if you didn't sign for a new two year contract then the guy gets no commission (at least to my knowledge).
He said the Rep said that after the order was placed...doesn't sound like he was saying it before hand in order to get a sale.

I ordered the phone around 45 minutes after it went on sale, but I was held up on receiving confirmation because it placed my order on hold because they wanted to "verify" my identity.
After faxing them my SSN and Drivers License, they removed the hold and it now it shows as "We received your order and it is in process. Expected Ship Date: 09/21/2012"
Called a sales rep (who seemed dead tired) and she confirmed the hold was removed and the phone will be delivered on time.
Hopefully that helps anyone in the same situation as me.

Did you save the confirmation number when you placed your order?
Did you check your spam folders?
If it has been 24 hours, I'd call.
I haven't been charged but I did have a $1 check against my CC.
Yup, I took a screenshot of the confirmation page. Nothing in the spam folders yet. I'll try to call them today!
Thought I would add my 2 cents. I had recently left Verizon and sold my 4s to save money on a prepaid android... Well that was a bad idea. I came back in 2 weeks through the winback department. But that didn't reset my upgrade date which was still slated for 2014. Then I called the day before preorder to msee if I could upgrade to the 5 and the lady said that I could and should have been given my upgrade back and that she got a supervisor to change it and that she would call me back when she started work the next day to preorder it for me. That didn't happen until 11:30ish on preorder day so my shipping date says 09/26/12.
I thought it was funny she was willing to call me back the next day, but since looking here i realized that she was going to get a commission. She was very nice though and she did give me my full 2 year upgrade after only being on my 4s for 6 months.... so

I've added it within the first year and had no trouble. As long as the current warranty isn't expired.
im switching back over from at&t... i have great credit, so why was i charged a $400 deposit? will i get this back relatively soon? or do they hold it for a long time?
They charged me a long time ago because I had no credit. They'll give it to you in about a year.
I recently left Verizon... ported to Sprint... then ported to AT&T... then ported right back to Verizon through the same Winback department. I was not eligible for upgrades on any of the 3 lines that I ported out until mid/late 2014 and yet I convinced the Winback department to waive the ETF charges, activation charges, and make each line upgrade eligible in order for me to port back in. At first the Winback rep wanted to order the device for me and said the iPhone was not eligible but in the end we just made the lines upgrade eligible so I could order what I wanted. Of course they said it was not supposed to be done this way but if they want you back badly enough they will give in to your requests.
They even offered to put me back on unlimited data but then I would not have been given upgrades. Shared Everything works fine in my case as we rarely go over 4GB combined in a month.
I had to make 4 phone calls to get mine to go through. Ordered 3:02 AM EST and got to the confirmation screen saying ship date 9/21, however it said something about a fraud alert. Called 4 times in the morning and finally got someone that could find me in their system. I cleared the fraud alert but they said the original order had been cancelled even though they never tried to contact me. She said she would put the order in again. My email says ship date 9/21 however the website confirmation page says 9/26 so who knows.
i have limited to no cred. A 550 score.. i dont have any bad charges though, just limited. im young and i was given a $0 deposit! weird

maybe you're credit is just maxed out?
I agree with your reasoning, BUT my email confirmation says "Delivers By: 09/21/2012" while the above website says "Expected Ship Date: 09/21/2012".
Pretty big difference between the two, if you ask me.
