Woot! Mine just left Memphis and is headed to Utah. Hopefully it is delivered okay. They left the 'East' off of my address.
You should call ahead to the store you're planning on going to. 7 and a half hours is asking a lot but I suppose it's possible.
I live in Fishkill, New York. I don't think there will be that many people there but I could be very very wrong.
Same here ordered @10:30am est but I spoke to someone at vw today and he told me to look for that shipping email on Monday ... Fingers crossed!!
Smaller city, small likelihood of a lot of walk in traffic. They may only get 40 phones. You just never know. Phone call takes 60 seconds. If there are multiple stores, get together the numbers now so you know where you'll be stalking hehe
I couldn't help myself, I had to look to see the FedEx flights from Memphis to Oregon. I think I figured out which flight my iphone is on. I didn't realize how geeky I can be. LOL
Are you in the East Coast? It looks like the ones leaving Memphis are going West not east. Guess they will send ours out later on.No...it has company!
The 'hold at FedEx facility' option is not available on VZW iPhone shipments unless one delivery attempt has been already made - just try it yourself. Also, I know my FedEx guy on a first name basis, we surf together pretty regularly, I live in a nice gated community and I have video survelliance outside my door. But yes, for your average case, I would not recommend doing this either, it does involve a risk.
Last year, most VZW stores in my area (Nassau County on Long Island, NY) had very few units on hand, and those got sold out within an hour after opening. I called six of those around 2PM on the launch day, and non had units available. If you live in a not too congested area, you may have better luck at an actual Apple store, although I doubt that any stock would be left by noon, let alone 3PM.

I am in Colorado, and mine is coming from Memphis. My iPhone was scanned as leaving at 2:36PM CST, and the flight took off at 2:36PM CST...

well mines been in transit several times while in memphis so im not sure if mines actually leaving this time, or just doing the dose doe and listening to some good ol' Tennessee country music.
I'm in New Mexico, actually. I'm sad but not concerned, though, since most of my overnight FedEx shipments that go out of Memphis don't leave until the evening/night before.

I ordered 3 phones from Verizon's website at about 10:15am eastern last Friday. Confirmation email said a delivery date of 9/21. My Verizon pre-order screen still shows 9/21 as the date with no tracking number.
I called internet sales and they said my phones should be delivered next Wednesday the 26th or Thursday the 27th.
It's not really a big deal to me, just figured I'd pass this on for anyone else who is still lacking a tracking number.
