you CAN NOT do that. it has to have 1 failed delivery attempt first. once again for the bazzilionth time you can not request for it to be held at the hub online/on the phone BEFORE 1 delivery attempt.
I completely feel your pain!! I don't expect any special treatment per se, but I certainly do EXPECT to receive customer service at least on par with the average retail customer. I don't get it?!?!
Yes! Finally got tracking on all 3 business lines! Now all 4 phones are on the way from Memphis!
My phone is still stuck in Memphis. Hopefully that will change soon.

Placed order at 9:50am EST 9/14 D771001 NYC area
"Order in process" until last night when my CC caused a fraud alert.
Called CC and VZW to push it through. Receipt shows 8:17pm confirmation.
Shipment date on status page went from 9/21 to 10/5 to blank.
Just got shipment notification 5 min ago for tomorrow before 3pm.

Back OT: got my status changed to processing and CC charged about an hour ago. Ordered 2 phones (32G black & 64G black) 9/14 at around 7:40AM CDT and I'm assuming I'm good to go for tomorrow delivery.
Some hubs are gonna be different. Was able able to contact my local hub and they are gonna hold it for me. As soon as I see track to the local hub she said I call and go pick it up. I live in a small town of 5000, I dont know if that makes a difference knowing that there isnt gonna be a lot of requests for holds as there would be in a large city. FWIW
yeah i can call the hub and have them do it, but thats not them actually changing the shipping to that. they are just manually doing it. you have to wait for it to be at the hub first! mines still in memphis listening to country music

My bad, I stand corrected. My primary point is that I wouldn't release FedEx of responsibility for leaving my iPhone at my door if I wasn't going to be home. Too insecure.
I had a gold coin shipped by UPS stolen by the driver in the past when I was in the EU. Signature was required, but the driver forged my name (which was not spelled correctly).
That sucks, man. That's exactly what I was afraid of, so I chose to get a new number with Verizon. I guess I'll call them up after activation to port over my old number.

I agree, this sucks because if we call out business support they have no clue and are not able to access the ordering portion of the system for pre-release stuff, and when you call internet sales they refer us back to business services. Maybe as business owners if we spend less with Verizon we can get treated better?

But that is right calling the 800 Fed Ed#, they cant put a hold on it unless u get Verizon to submit a form to them holding it. But I didnt wanna take the chance of that screwing up my order. I guess I just got lucky speaking to the person I did understanding my situation. Going on vacation and will miss the delivery and probably the 2nd and 3rd try as well.
No matter what, we will all be enjoying our new beautiful devices soon. I cant wait to get back in the Apple ecosystem. Farewell to the GS3. You will not be missed.
I assume tracking an iPhone would be pretty easy with reference numbers, serial numbers, etc. I know it happens, but people have to be pretty stupid to steal iPhones & iPads.
