When did you preorder it? I would think it's way too late to cancel if you preordered it the morning on 9/14.

I preordered online on the 16th so I wasn't gonna get it until October 5th

Cancelled my 32GB Black that was scheduled for 9/26 and got a 64GB White at the Verizon store nearby. It was my first time standing in line, and it being a smaller store in a suburb I got there at 6.30 for fourth in line Someone else is going to end up with my 32GB preorder so...you're welcome!

Also from LA area. Mine is showing phone is in destination sort facility. It still needs to come to my local FedEx station before it gets to my door. Keeping fingers crossed for everyone!

How were you able to check this? Your plan won't change until after you activate your new phone, which I was told will drop you to tiered data.

If you pay full price, you can keep unlimited. That is what I did too.

Nope, if you order on a dumb phone line, then switch over, it doesn't affect your main line.

I'm already hearing on another thread that the store told them they had to have a new sim and NONE OF THE STORES HAD ANY.

Please tell me this isn't the case, what an epic fail if it's true.

8:30 it says it reached local facility and at 8:34 on fed ex vehicle for delivery! Just waiting for the truck to come now and I'm so excited I'm skipping my 2 classes today

So apparently FedEx (as smart as they are) decided to fly my package from Memphis to Los Angeles instead of flying it to Ontario (I live 15 minutes away from the sorting facility in Ontario). Apparently it was on a flight that departed 14 hours ago. I called FedEx and the lady told me that they had a scan around 4:20am and that my package is in Los Angeles (as of now 7AM). I just don't see why FedEx are mismanaging this whole process and waiting until the very last day.

She said that I would receive it by 3PM today and insisted that there was no issue whatsoever. I feel that if they were just a bit more organized and trusted their sorting facilities a little more, my package could have been out for delivery around 7:45AM and I would have received my package around 9-10AM. Now it looks like I may get it at 3:30-4PM (even though they say by 3PM).

Yes I understand that sh** happens and you may say that it's just a phone. But this limits my movement throughout the day. I don't have work today but I have other obligations that I would have like to attended to.

"I am being told by ALL of my local Verizon stores that they will NOT transfer the numbers (new sims) as of now because of their limited supply. They are keeping them on hand incase one of the sims in the iPhone 5 goes bad. "

Apparently my iPhone is in Los Angeles (my local facility is in Ontario). My tracking number hasn't been updated but the representative I talked to assured me that I would get my iPhone before 3PM.

So I am to believe that FedEx is still in the process scanning packages in LA and preparing them on a truck to drive from LAX (assuming their facility is near by) to Ontario. Then unload and scan all of those packages and load them onto new trucks. Then deliver all of those packages by 3PM. I'm just not buying it.

They should have shipped them to LA yesterday and dealt with the ground transportation around 12-4am. Or they could have put my package on the plane straight to Ontario.
