Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

last tracking update was last night.

Ordered my phone Sat with 10-5 delivery. Followed this forum and didn't feel like waiting 2 more weeks. Stopped by small Radioshack at 9am. They only had 2 phones lol that were pre-ordered. Was in left turn lane to leave mall when I glanced across the street at VZW and saw no line. Whipped into the right turn lane and into the parking lot. A salesman came out of the door to greet me and said yes they have iphones. He cancelled my pre-order and sold me a white 16.

Verizon Restocking Fee?

Hello Everyone!

Just like everyone else here, I'm anxiously awaiting my iPhone 5. However, I won't see it until next Friday when I get back from my trip.

Question is, if for some reason I decide to go with another phone, would Verizon still charge me a re-stocking fee for an unopened iPhone 5? With such huge demand for the phone, I would hope not.

If they do charge me, I might ask some other stranger who's on the waitlist to pay for the $35 to get an iPhone 5 sooner rather than later.

Thoughts?

So apparently FedEx (as smart as they are) decided to fly my package from Memphis to Los Angeles instead of flying it to Ontario (I live 15 minutes away from the sorting facility in Ontario). Apparently it was on a flight that departed 14 hours ago. I called FedEx and the lady told me that they had a scan around 4:20am and that my package is in Los Angeles (as of now 7AM). I just don't see why FedEx are mismanaging this whole process and waiting until the very last day.

She said that I would receive it by 3PM today and insisted that there was no issue whatsoever. I feel that if they were just a bit more organized and trusted their sorting facilities a little more, my package could have been out for delivery around 7:45AM and I would have received my package around 9-10AM. Now it looks like I may get it at 3:30-4PM (even though they say by 3PM).

Yes I understand that sh** happens and you may say that it's just a phone. But this limits my movement throughout the day. I don't have work today but I have other obligations that I would have like to attended to.

FedEx shipments to LA usually go through the sort facility in LA. IIRC, UPS is the one that has a hub in Ontario. It will probably go through the station in City of Industry before it loads on the truck to be delivered. At least in my area, that's how it works. You guys may have a local station closer to you, which in any case it has to go there first before it hits the truck.

I was talking to a FedEx representative. I know that VZW would see the same thing as me.

My package is sitting in Ontario awaiting to be sent out on a truck :)

I think that the representative was misinformed. She said that my package was in Los Angeles and then 30 minutes later it was in Ontario. FedEx has a hub in Ontario, as a matter of fact they have two planes from Memphis to Ontario each day.
 
Ive been following this thread for the past few days. I live in southeast PA. My iphone went out for delivery this morning at 7:49 and I still haven't gotten it yet! It's killing me to see others getting theres! Where's my fedex guy!

Same here! Went out at 7:30 and its now 10am here! Anytime within the next five hours... What suspense

Just got mine. The FedEx guy is already frazzled. Said he has 45 on his truck today to deliver.

I had that happening to me last year it drove me crazy!


Anyone in San Diego have their phone switch to out for delivery?? Mine is still sitting at the local station..
