Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

Seems like mine just entered transit. Ordered 9/14 4 pm central. So much for estimated delivery of 9/26. 
Anyway does anyone know if they drive from Tennessee to Chicago, Illinois or fly? I'm just going to face the fact it's probably coming tomorrow...

If it looks like you have a number then a space followed by a series of numbers, you may need to remove the first number and the space before you enter it on fedex... thats what I had to do. Thanks Verizon.

I must have misunderstood. I thought your date was the 28th. If it says the 5th it will probably be a few days before that. But deliver by and ship by are the same for verizon.
Aaaaaannnnddddd.....it's here. Physically flawless. 5 bars where my AT&T iPhone 4 only has 1. And the feel of this in your hand...makes the 4 feel clunky by comparison.
Now just the maddening wait for settings to restore from iCloud. Screen says 8 minutes left but actual restore time seems to be running about twice as long as what is indicated on the phone.

I've never used the iCloud before.. I always back up my stuff to iTunes.
You're very lucky, I will probably have a iPhone with a bunch of scuffs WHEN it does arrive.
I've been relying more and more on iCloud recently, and finally switched to iCloud backups because I knew I would receive my iPhone at the office and want to restore right away.
iCloud is one of those things you don't think you need, but once you start using it don't know how you got by without it.
Don't fret about scuffs. Even though there are a lot of posts I would guess it is a tiny percentage of total users.

I hope not, seriously. It worries me to death. Although I worry more about the screen being broken or something.

You might, I know a lot of people in the september 26 and 28 group got theirs a day or two ahead of time. Mine is scheduled to come tomorrow which is a day ahead of time.
To all y'all that ordered around 12:30 pm (central mountain time) on 09/15 and have a shipping date of 10/05... I just check status on Verizon site and it has finally had some change!!! It has changed to "your order has been sent for processing) and my expected ship date is now blank! No tracking yet but I'm a lil happier now that iv seen some change!
I don't understand the use of it to be honest.. and it takes a bunch of cellular data and I am on a tight plan with Verizon.
I hope not, seriously. It worries me to death. Although I worry more about the screen being broken or something.
I should have never read those horror stories.

I believe you can set to backup only when using wifi. In my case, as soon as I get home my wifi kicks in and my photos get uploaded automatically. Believe it or not but photos are more important to me than contacts lol so thats all im backing up on icloud.
Yep, I got the same thing this morning.
I placed my order on 9/14 at 7:00pm EST with a delivery date of 9/28.
Though my CC was charged this morning at 4:30am.
After reading these post i checked the Verizon site again and now the delivery is blank again and still says sent to processing.
Does anyone know what the next step is and maybe when I'll see some more change after you get " your order has been sent for processing" and the ship date goes blank? P.s... Iv already paid for the phone.

Long story short, I'm on my 3rd iPhone order. A rep told be I qualified for a "jump-the-line request". Yesterday My status was "we received your order and it is in process" (The grammar in that sentence enrages me.) However now it's saying "Payment not taken yet" on the end (even though I have been charged!) and my delivery date is 11/30/002, meaning my order is even more behind schedule than I imagined.
I think I'm gonna go ahead and call Verizon again, even though I'm a new customer & I'll probably get lost in the prompts again since none of them are accepting the phone number in my confirmation email.
