what would you do?

I'm in the same boat as many of you: 16gb black ordered on 9/16.

Question: a local radioshack has the same phone in stock now. BUT they are totally lame and charging $699 instead of $649.

Do you do it?

I'm almost rebelling out of principle.
 
Our business ordered 1 16gb black / 1 32 gb white on day 1 of pre-orders, 9/14 around 4:00 PM PST. We were originally told 9/28 but nothing came on Friday. Now it's 10/1 and still nothing. I want my phone!

No, because you're spending an extra $50 when you could save it. :p

but it could be one of the reasons.. :cool::cool::cool:

Edit: I would at least wait until Friday, since that is the end of the "promised" ship/delivery date.
 
I'm starting to wonder about that mythical 10/5 date though. I've already had 4 opportunities to buy in town and am kicking myself a little...

Actually, the newest manufactured iPhones for Verizon already have the newest update as well too.

Exactly RPG, which is why I was thinking maybe there was a delay bcuz of the glitch. I wasn't implying the delay is still going on but maybe it is more of a ripple effect and their playing catch-up?

I am about to give up. If there's nothing new this Thursday or Friday, then I am just going to forget about it and just wait until I can buy one at a later time.
RPG, hang in there my friend it's coming. Don't give up on it we just need to know next time to choose another method of simply wait until the hype is calm. Ride out the storm with us.

Mine's on the 19th, and I've had no chance to buy it off retail :D

If any of you do get the chance then you guys can always call and cancel your preorder. Just make the call instore, you'll get an instant email notification if it's successful.

None of our shipments will ship until Friday (at the earliest)?

and that makes no sense. Fedex still ships things on the weekend, so we would it get monday or tuesday?

Wait, it would ship OUT Wednesday? That makes no sense at all. Wouldn't it arrive Wednesday?

Well...I guess finally posting on this thread brought me some luck. Just received an shipment notification from Verizon. Unlike many others on here who have received theirs, mine has been shipped via 2-day and not overnight express delivery. Will still be here two days before the "promise" ship by date.

Ditto, finally got mine too. 2 day as well but it was picked up in a town 45 minutes from here, so i'm hoping I get it tomorrow.
 
Received my 64gb blk ip5 today at 2:30. Had ordered morning of 9/17 at VZW store. Phone is beautiful with no hint of a problem. You will need access to a wi if network or iTunes to activate and you will need to call an automated number to activate the 4g. Very simple instructions included with phone. My glitch was turning off my old phone to activate the new one and then remembering that I needed to get my wifi password off the old phone. You can turn cell data off to force wifi use. It's. better phone than you imagined when you ordered. I know it drives you crazy to wait, but it is worth it. Set up an alert on your cc to notify you of the charge. When the pending charge hits, the status changes to show blank and then only your original ship date. It does some weird changes while they are processing. Then your phone gets shipped via 2 day FedEx. It will not come overnight. If you haven't received a shipping email with your tracking number 4 days after your cc was charged, I'd call customer service pronto.

I also ordered a second ip5 32gb white on 9/27 with shipping date of 10/29. Unfortunately the cc I used has now been compromised so I had to cancel it and get a new number. No way to salvage the ip5 order so I will have to order it all over again when I get the new cc. Are there really ip5s in stores?
