Received my 64gb blk ip5 today at 2:30. Had ordered morning of 9/17 at VZW store. Phone is beautiful with no hint of a problem. You will need access to a wi if network or iTunes to activate and you will need to call an automated number to activate the 4g. Very simple instructions included with phone. My glitch was turning off my old phone to activate the new one and then remembering that I needed to get my wifi password off the old phone. You can turn cell data off to force wifi use. It's. better phone than you imagined when you ordered. I know it drives you crazy to wait, but it is worth it. Set up an alert on your cc to notify you of the charge. When the pending charge hits, the status changes to show blank and then only your original ship date. It does some weird changes while they are processing. Then your phone gets shipped via 2 day FedEx. It will not come overnight. If you haven't received a shipping email with your tracking number 4 days after your cc was charged, I'd call customer service pronto.

I also ordered a second ip5 32gb white on 9/27 with shipping date of 10/29. Unfortunately the cc I used has now been compromised so I had to cancel it and get a new number. No way to salvage the ip5 order so I will have to order it all over again when I get the new cc. Are there really ip5s in stores?

Do you have to talk to someone? :p

and what about those who don't have a phone already? Is this process the same?

I hope this is true.

If it is, I will cry of happiness.

Andrew, can you confirm this for me? Is this what the rep said?

Here ya go!

Just registered to share my experience.

I ordered on September 17th online via Verizon. I received a confirmation email, with an estimated shipping date of 10/05/2012. My card has not been charged, nor have I received any additional emails. The pre-order status check simply states "We received your order and it is in process."

I decided to chat it up, and here's what was said:

Our record is showing that you did not accept the terms and condition for the the order of the device on 09/17/12 and this is why you were not charged for the device purchase. I do apologize for the big inconvenience. I suggest you contact our customer care via phone at 1-800-922-0204 or *611 from your handset to further assist. Is there anything else I could assist you with?

I'm not sure how one would get through to the order confirmation page, and get an email confirmation if you didn't accept the TOS. Strange, yes?

Update: After calling Verizon, they put me through to an automated TOS acceptance prompt. You enter your number, last four of your social, and press a few digits to either accept or deny the TOS. If you've already accepted, it will tell you. If not, just follow the prompts.

I hope this helps!

Very strange, were you told about any TOS when you bought it?

Customer service reps are going to tell you anything. They don't have access to the preorder system and supervisors are instructing CS reps to say the ship date when in reality they have no idea when these things are going to ship. Earlier one supervisor told me they don't even know until hours before Apple has released the order to them and by the looks of it, that hasn't happened yet. I am taking a very cautious approach with what CS has to say as I have been told my phone was shipping on 3 different occasions only to find out that, it really wasn't the case. I would say about 75 percent of the time CS is talking out of their ass, the other 25 percent they are just clueless.

Hello everyone, I ordered my white 32 gig iPhone 5 on the morning of 9/20 from the Verizon website. My cc was charged on Thursday sept 27th. I just received the FedEx tracking number 20 minutes ago.

Please don't ruin our spirit robert, even though you could be right. :(

That is horse manure.... Many of us have been waiting a lot longer and still haven't shipped. I don't care what the size is... they need to ship peoples orders whom ordered first. If they don't have the phone, then just upgrade their size for free to the next largest in stock. Many would praise VZ for that and even get great press out of it... I understand they want to be cheap and they don't want to do it, but the great PR would be well worth it.

Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet for the good of the customer. VZ has failed in this.

mine have both been charged Friday (64gb black and 16gb white) but no date showing...no word of tracking number...does it mean shipping soon? they dont ship on the weekend right? maybe arriving tomorrow?
..ship date was 10/05 originally

Why sugar coat a bad situation. It's obvious Verizon wasnt prepared for the demand. :apple: along with that. It doesn't take a Psychic to predict whats going to happen when you launch an Iphone with a bigger screen and 4G / LTE.

This is how my order went down. Ordered on the 16th. Nothing changed until Thursday the 27th when everything changed in a hurry. First my status changed in the early afternoon. Then I got a Fed Ex tracking number in the evening. By late thursday evening, the fed ex site already had it in transit, and on friday morning it was at the sorting facility in my city. My CC did not get charged until later friday afternoon. Phone got delivered today.

I don't think I was ever given a TOS signing, should I be worried?
