I ordered mine at about 3:10ish EST. I have the whole Ace location, Ace order number, ship date of 9/21 yada yada....
I was a bit concerned because I have not received the email, but using the link from the OP, I confirmed my order and feel better.
Same thing with me. I split the payment and half of it is on my debit card, but the order is under my mom's names.
The anticipation is killing me but I'm kinda worried since my card billing address isn't the one on the account. But it asked for the billing zip when I entered the card so I hope that works. It'll be a pain since I took ky girlfriends upgrade so I'm gonna have to go through a process o get it onto my account which is on a different line.
It will most definitely provide an LTE hotspot. If my old HTC Thunderbolt could do it, there's no reason the iPhone 5 can't.
So I really like the idea that my iPhone is already sitting state side just waiting to be shipped on Wed/Thurs, but I must say, I do miss the fun of preordering from Apple and watching it ship from China via tracking number!
There is no wiki for Verizon's policys and procedures so you can't get the data cited for a lot of stuff here lol. Most info is from previous experience, or Verizon reps.

I got my order confirmation via email. Verizon says expected ship date: 9/26 on the email. But, when i check my order status on the website, it says the ship date is the 21st!? I was wondering if anyone can tell me which one it probably is. Im hoping the 21st obviously lol.

More then less likely you will get it on the 21st, you will know for sure here in a couple days when our phones start to get shipped. But I would say the 21st.
Thanks a lot. Yeah it was just a big mind****. I did order it friday morning at around 10:30 am so i figured it couldnt of been sold out from verizon that early

Why did you choose to pre-order from Verizon as opposed to Apple?
I chose to do Verizon this year, as I've always had success ordering from my carrier. Is there a particular advantage to ordering from Apple? Does it matter?

Advantages for me this year was that
1)It opened 5-10 minutes early
2)I had a $30 discount when I upgraded.
Last year the Apple website was down for over 40 minutes while the Verizon page didn't crash once. There is no real advantage doing one from the other. The only one is that with Apple you get a tracking number from China, with Verizon you won't get a tracking number till Wednesdayish since they ship them stateside.
They have in the past. If not we will be getting a shipping notification really really soon. But I wouldn't count on it.
verizon's return policy is 14 days with a $35 restocking fee. if, for any reason, i'm unhappy with my iphone, i would rather have purchased it from apple, where i have 30 days to return it without a restocking fee. so if there's a hardware issue, or if i'm being nit picky about screen color temperature or how clicky/mushy the home button feels, i'm free to return to apple hassle-free.
Noticed yesterday my shipping method said standard shipping, but I checked today and now it says holiday shipping, anyone seeing this?
Yes. If they weren't, some of us would've already gotten our shipping notices like people who pre-ordered through Apple have, but none of us have. Also, the same happened last year, so it's pretty much confirmed they are shipping stateside.
