Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

I'm not sure. But to make you feel better I ordered at 0050 and mine just started appearing in UPS system and in Apple's yet it has already been departed from Nashville, TN.
 
I'm debating whether I should pre-order now or take the chance and try to get one on launch day. Pretty certain VZW stores will be sold out by the end of the day??

I talked to a Verizon rep about this the day before pre-orders began. They told me that the reason they require a card payment is because they don't want to bill your account if, for whatever reason, the phone is backordered. By using a card, you're only charged/billed when it's shipped vs billing it to an account, which could charge you before the phone is shipped depending on your billing cycle.

I don't know if this is the complete reason, but that's what they told me on the phone.

Remember that a large number of Verizon customers who got the iPhone 4 originally initiated a new two-year contract and won't be eligible for an upgrade until 10/07/12. Most people will wait until then instead of paying retail and getting it two weeks earlier. I think that has the potential to slow traffic at Verizon stores on the 21st. Yeah, there will be some new customer traffic, but I think a corporate Verizon store in a less populated area might be a good bet for this release. I know I'm going to one in my area and do not plan to get there any sooner than an hour before opening time...

And most people with a 4S are only about one year in...
 
Also ordered Verizon 64GB Black around 12:30am PST. Still in Processing Items. Also shipping method changed from Standard to Holiday Shipping.

I am... I'm not too concerned since I ordered over the phone and got my confirmation number and email etc.

I figure I'll get an email communication when it actually ships

Where do you live? I ordered my black 64GB iPhone 5 on Verizon from the Apple Store app at 12:15pst and it didn't change to "preparing for shipment" until yesterday around 12:45pm gmt. I'm all the way in NM and was part of the first batch, so that may be why it took a while, yet you're still after me since you're closer to a distributing location, maybe?

Interesting. I got my confirmation email at 12:02 but my status still says "We received your order and it is in process". I ordered a 32GB though.
 
Ordered mine through Verizon; no tracking email or anything yet. Original confirmation email confirmed delivery date of 9/21.

thats odd, i ordered mine 11:50 am CST, close to yours. and mine still says 9/21. Did you call vzw and see if there is a hold up on your credit check??


if the rep says you will be getting it 10/5 just cancel and go get one at a store on launch day. since vzw doesnt bill you until its shipped you should be good.

Did you order through Apple or Verizon? My friend ordered a black 32GB Verizon model from Apple and his says "Preparing for Shipment" too.

I ordered a black 64GB model through Verizon and I'm still on "We received your order and it is in process."

Mine still says 9/21 for expected ship (delivery) date, so I'm not worried yet. I'll be worried if it gets to Wednesday/Thursday and it still says it's being processed.

Edit: I received my pre-order confirmation email at 3:15AM EST on the 14th, so barring any catastrophe, I should be in the first wave.

Ordered mine on Verizon about 14 minutes after they became available and mine has yet to change from the original ship date of the 21st. I'm sure it will be here friday though. I just hope I'm home to sign for it! Blast on having 2 tests friday :(
 
We should clarify, this thread is for orders from verzion.com, not apple.com. Apple.com has it's own thread and the order statuses are way different. Who cares if you ordered a verizon phone from apple.com, it'll be same process as at&t or sprint from apple.com.
 
Well, finally got my order sorted out thanks to a Verizon supervisor, my status shows online and the estimated ship date is October 5 :mad:

Glad that it was worth it to wake up early on Friday to order my iPhone at 3am. What a waste

That's bull. I'm gonna throw a fit if that happens to me. So far, I'm ok, but I wouldn't be shocked if some bs happens in the next couple days.
