What the crap!? Ordered from the Verizon site RIGHT at 2am (central) and the whole time my account has said delivery on the 21st. Now I go in there, and it's suddenly changed to Oct 5th? What the hell? I wasn't even late in pre-ordering? Better be a mistake and the phone still arrives on Friday!!!
 
:p I went ahead and called the Amazon Chase people just to give me some peace of mind. She told me the charge has already been approved. There would have been no hard feelings anyway! There are worse things that could happen :)
Haha glad you're mind is at ease, like I said if it is already pending on your account, most likely it has been approved and you are good to go.
 
GAH! Mine was an Amazon Chase Visa! Keeping my fingers crossed... Don't know if it's worthwhile to call the credit card company to let them know the charge is legit. I hope Frasern1 is right.

For what it's worth, the sequence of events for me was

- No charge or pending charge on my card

- Call from issuing bank re: potential fraud, verified that it was a legit charge

- A couple of minutes later, the pending charge appeared on the account.
 
My card was charged today, and the status changed to "your order has been sent for processing." I freaked out at first, though, because it said expected ship date something like 10/5! Now, it's blank, but I figure if they have charged the card today, that is a good sign. You wouldn't charge this far in advance. But seeing as I completed my order with them at 12:08am on Friday, I was pissed off and freaking out for a moment...

I noticed my delivery date just changed to 10/5 so I called and cried. Literally I cried to the CSR and then asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor apologized after seeing that I ordered at 3:08am EST and offered to credit my account $50 to keep the 10/5 delivery date. We chatted back and forth about the Redskins and how RG3 is at least exciting to watch, but ultimately we are not very optimistic about winning a lot of games.

Then the conversation turned back to the iPhone and the supervisor again mentioned the $50 credit. At that point I cried again and I said things like "OMG and FML" and "Please oh GOD PLEASE...I NEED my iPhone 5 on Friday or else I don't know what I'll do"! Then the supervisor said "OH sir...I'm so sorry, I didn't know you needed it so badly. In that case I will make sure I get your order priority changed". He switched it back and while I was on the phone with him I could already see that it now said 9/21 for delivery. I peed a little in excitement but before the supervisor let me go he said "Just so you know, You won't get it on the 21st...it will be at your house on the 20th".

That's when I hung up the phone and ran a 5k I was SO excited!!! OMG...OMG OMG!!!!

I can't tell if this is serious or not.

Check it again...mine said the same thing and it is now blank...I think it was a momentary blip.
 
Ordered 3:05 AM EST. Still "recieved order and in process". $1 pending VZW charge on Amex. 9/21 date. Not worried yet
 
Called Verizon and mentioned about AMEX flagging it for potential fraud and got it cleared up. Was told "nothing he can do about the shipping date". Pretty much was told I was bumped to the end of the line....

I called after my date changed to 10/5. Sure enough my card declined. I used another card and now the ship date is blank! Hope it comes back to 9/21!! I wouldn't count on it being a blip, most likely a payment issue. It would be best to call and check.

Not a payment issue for me. My card shows the full charge and it's a business card that gets a lot of usage, so no reason to flag it. If it changes dates again to after 9/21, then I will call. But I don't want to call unless I have a clear reason to, and a blank date is better than seeing a 10/5 date, lol.

Check credit card, make sure it didn't get denied for some reason.
 
I have some hope! The calls to Verizon/Chase didn't help me much. I got a text right now asking if I asked my phone company to do a pre-authorization charge reply 1 if yes, 2 if no.
