Verizon iPhone Launches with Mobile Hotspot and Redesigned Antenna

So..AT&T are you really still going to try and charge people $15 a month extra to tether iPhones with a cord? To use the limited amount of data that people already paid for?
 
VZW.com needs more bandwidth to keep up with the people looking for more information. Hopefully they haven't underestimated their cellular capacity too.
 
I would like to get one, but my upgrade isn't up until December. Im not paying $599 (16GB) or $699(32GB), especially when the iPhone 5 comes out this summer.
 
I'm still surprised no mention on plans were made. Doesn't Verizon charge separate for things like visual voice mail?
 
i hope the overall pricing will be better. I hate to pay a mandatory $250 for 2 phones with AT&T. Such a rip off. I wish we get more competition in the USA.

Hmmmmmmmm, so stay with AT&T with mobile calling and data at the same time or switch to verizon for MiFi and get a version 2 iPad when it comes out without need for 3G version or wait for LTE versions...hmmmmmmmmm
 
Well...

THE biggest non-event this year ... But it's still early in 2011.
This has been brewing for months. And I already have Mifi which I downloaded from Cydia.
 
While I get they are trying to reward their existing customers by giving them first dibs, I think it is retarded. If it is anything like the AT&T pre-order disaster I'm going to be really disappointed. It should be open to all at the same time. I don't want current Verizon customers buying up the stock to just sell the phone for $1k because they have it in hand compared to a month's wait. 🙄

And... still no mention of a white one. Or plan pricing. I may just stick to T-Mobile with my unlocked white one.
 
The hotspot is a nice shot by Verizon. That will make ATT counter or lose some ground. Did we hear anything about an unlimited data plan for Verizon?

Competition, we have waited so long for you. 😀😀😀😀

I'll eat my words on Apple never producing a CDMA phone but that is a nightmare

this basically makes the iOS notification system useless. You will get flooded with notifications each time you get off the phone.

I'm not sure I would ever want to trade that off, along with Verizon upping their upgrade limit from 12 mo to 20.
 
Yech, the placement of the other two antenna break points are not really ideal aesthetically. Kind of messes up the continuous lines of the sides of the phone.

i get the feeling there's something were not being told about the new antenna.

i get the need to readjust to cmda, but did they need to redesign it ?

i feel like there hushing up the fact that they've just implemented a new antenna, time will tell if non verizon iphones start rolling out with this antenna design.

Also, its gonna suck that apple is not gonna give older iphone 4's any antenna support if this new design is a better one.

if they were, theyd have mentioned it by now.

I have Verizon and am eligible for an upgrade on my phone/contract? Does this even matter since I want the iPhone?
 
I'm surprised there weren't any rumours of a Verizon iPhone before this announcement. This is entirely left field.
 
It's finally here! Will seriously considering switching back to Verizon for wireless. Either that, or AT&T will come up with some better options. Good for me either way!

I would like to see AT&T counter on this. But mostly, looking forward to the people who leave AT&T for Verizon, so long and get off our network. 😀 Go tie up theirs. 😀
