It obviously takes some time to ship out a couple of million phones, and the only promise was that they would be delivered before the 10th. Sounds like they are doing pretty well so far.

Thanks for reposting those instructions! I think I followed something similar from the Verizon forums (Verizon actually has instructions but doesn't mention having to call the 800 number). When I called the 800 number late last night (had to go out to dinner first and a Cub Scouts meeting), I didn't get to speak to a representative. I think Verizon was already closed so I got stuck on hold? I will try again once I get to work (no land line at home; used my husband's work cell phone to call and not the two lines that I wanted to switch the iPhone from and to). Hope you get your phone early today!

This maybe the answer. Since I'm in Hawaii too, i've been tracking your posts. I'm scheduled to receive mine tonight.

Yay! That's great the tracking system will be back up and running. :)

Notice on FedEx:

IMPORTANT!
All tracking functionality has been restored. Although operations are normal, some customers may experience a temporary delay in receiving updated tracking information as the system regenerates. Any delays in tracking will be cleared by noon Central time today. Thank you.

Mine was delivered yesterday around noon. Pretty good considering how many iPhone's are being shipped as we post.

All set up and activated yesterday with little to no issues. Contact sync worked flawlessly. Network speeds aren't horrible (I'm in Boston). Very impressed thus far.

I'm getting a little impatient here. i was supposed to receive it yesterday by 3 via UPS. So I looked yesterday and the estimated delivery date was gone and the phone is still in secaucus nj as of 5 am today. i called verizon and ups and they don't know why i haven't received it yet. very aggravating!

Yesterday I'm sitting in my living room. 12 feet away from my front door. I went out at 2:05pm to check my mail and there was a FedEx door tag on my door with a delivery time of 1:30. Apparently the driver decided to not ring my bell or knock on the door. Either that or he tapped on the door like a child. Pissed me off. So then I call FedEx to see if I can go to the warehouse and pick it up. Three different CSR's tell me I can go get it between 5-7pm at their Va Beach warehouse. I get up there at 6:55 and they tell me that my truck won't be back until midnight. Wasted an hour and a half drive plus the gas to get there. I was so irritated. I called and lodged a complaint with FedEx over the whole episode. Now I had to sign the door tag and leave it on my door so the driver will leave my phone. Totally ticked me off.

This is weird. Ordered an iPhone for my wife and I and it was scheduled to be delivered today by 10:30. Only one showed up.

I checked tracking and they were both in city X (50 miles away) last night, but only one of the phones left there and made it to me this morning. The other phone is still in city X according to online tracking.

Any chance I get it from UPS today? Anyone have luck on the phone with UPS tracking a package down?

Phone is on the truck. On my way to work now. Hopefully my brother-in-law gets it for me. Won't see it until tonight, if at all.

Couple more hours of Droid 1 usage.

Anyone have any tips on where would be the best place to offload my Droid?

anyone have any idea how many apps a 16GB iphone can hold?

EDIT: I read this online. Is it true?

Well Apple has set a limit on the user only being able to put nine pages of apps on your Ipod/Iphone. Each page holds 16 apps each but there's about one page of apps already on the Iphone. so at most 144 apps. if you jailbreak your Iphone tho you can put many more.

Since iOS 4.0 you can make folders and have 12 applications in each folder. There could possibly be 16 folders on each page and a maximum of 11 pages, making it a total of 2112+ applications.

I don't know if you can have 2000 applications in a 16gb iPhone though.
