I am confused by this story as I thought everyone was waiting for iPhone 5 and no one was going buy iPhone 4 on Verizon.

I'm not sure why people are assuming that Verizon will get the iPhone 5 at the same time that AT&T does. It is quite plausible that Apple maintains a delayed availablity model between these 2 networks for a vairety of reasons.

The order status page is not loading for me. Looks like a lot of people are checking. Did they sell out yet??

I think you're checking the wrong place. You have to go to the iPhone pre-order page and click on check order. It's a totally different page for iPhone pre-orders.

Anyone have an order through business account? I couldn't get one through because it kept generating an error message in the checkout process. It didn't finally go through until 4am (see below). I'm not sure if this means the warehouse is empty for pre-orders? Or maybe they'll receive more shipments from Apple?

the 10th

This happened with the iPhone on AT&T. Orders where placed and shown has shipped. Fed Ex was holidng on to them until the day before the release, as a request from Apple and AT&T.

Hopefully, you get them early.

order number?

I did two different orders, one for another family member. Interestingly the first one is listed as shipped, while the second one is listed as in process and I can make modifications to the payment. So it could actually imply that these phones are shipping out early.

EDIT: So I just checked again and now the second one is listed as shipped and no longer can make modifications to the payment.

what was the order numbers im curious how many have no shipped?

Probably have a hold at Fedex, similar to other early orders. Won't be delivered till the 10th is my bet.

Not true. Last year for the AT&T pre-order, mine arrived one day early and others arrived 2 days early. Apple and Verizon both say on their sites, "Will arrive ON or BEFORE 2/10". So it's very possible they could arrive early. But I would assume, just like the AT&T version last year, they will be coming from China.

Verizon did tell me this morning that it is first come first shipped, so those that got in early WILL get their's early.

If I ordered via Apple's website, will I be receiving it later than those who ordered on VZW website?

FWIW, my shipping status is: prepared for shipment.

I just ordered mine about a half hour ago - got the confirmation message saying the expected ship date is the 10th? Did anyone else get this kind of estimate as well?

That will totally suck if it doesn't even ship out until the day that I could have just gone to a store to buy one....

I ordered mine the first thing this morning, at 3 am Eastern and this is the same thing it shows for mine when I just checked.

I do have an ACE order number and location number. But it hasn't shipped. I'm surprised at my order number, it's 7 digits and I literally started my order at 3:01 am.

order number for your apple one? there shipping up to # like 3000 last i could see from the posts here!

Don't you think since these have been in production since December that there would be a stockpile in a warehouse all packed and ready to go? It's not like a completely new design that hasn't been released so I wouldn't think Apple would be as strict to let a few ship to their most loyal customers first.

that must be the ACE NUMBER and thats the "order number were referring to"

They actually opened up verizonwireless around 2:48 I believe. This is why your digits are longer.

my shipping location is: Order Location: D7708-01

Im geussing these phones are all in the USA already

I'm taking a wild guess that they are in the US as well. There has been a massive build-up to this day, and I think (hope actually) that Verizon will reward those loyal customers who have been with them for a long time (such as myself since 2005) with the iPhone well in advance of those persons who don't have Verizon Wireless accounts.

Oddly enough, Verizon and Apple will be taking orders on the 9th, with an in store pickup of the device on the 10th for all other customers. Now maybe I've taken entirely too many shots to the head from MMA matches but it seems to me that if I wasn't going to receive my phone early, then what was the sense of a pre-order if I can't get my phone sooner than the masses? Getting my phone shipped to me on the 10th (with a probable arrival date of the 11th) because I pre-ordered would put me getting my phone behind people that weren't currently Verizon Wireless customers. That, in my scrambled brains, makes no sense to me.

my order # over 1 million at 3:09 AM order confirmation

Is it possible to sell a million online from 10 til 3 AM to a little after 3 when I ordered mine? My order # is 7 digits, whereas the guys below have very low #s Of course my order # is from verizon. Did you get your # from Apple or verizon?

what is your order #, our's was 216 & 3784.......???

CHECK THAT:

Order 216 is shipped

Order 3784 is "We received your order and it is in process."

Order Shipped

My order also says shipped but not tracking number yet. Will post if I get it.

2005? Ha. 1995 here.
(Sorry, I had to...)

They probably are really shipping units with no holds. Why? Because then those folks won't be more lines to risk bogging up the activation servers on the 10th. It is unlikely that that many ATT users are in a position to switch right now so with existing customers handled early they could avoid the lock ups that have hit on every other launch day

Dude.... I was originally with 360 Communications which sold to Alltell. I left Alltel because of customer service issues in 2005 and went with Verizon. I haven't had a single problem with them since. Really happy with Verizons service which incidentally took over for Alltel in my area 2 years ago. The more things change...

Mine just changed to "shipped" in the past 20mins.

No tracking, like the rest. As much as I'd love it to be on it's way I'm thinking it's just the pre-package process. They're boxing the 2million+ pre-orders, loading them onto the docks, and pre-printing the FedEx info since I'm sure it'll take 2-3 days to just get the orders ready.
