From my understanding we can activate the phone from home when it arrives. But has anyone ordered a phone before from Verizon and activated it themselves? What is the general process like?

Verizon iPhone Orders Already Shipping

Midwest Mac I have activated a phone through the Verizon website. It is as simple as putting in your MEID number and phone number if I remember right.
I already have a buyer for my Crackberry Tour with the Otterbox and a car charger. $70. Good riddance. Damn thing freezes on me all the time. I told the person this and they still want it because their company uses Blackberry and her company issued one is acting up more than mine. Plus my tour is a newer model than what she currently has.
Just had a thought regarding these shipped statuses with no tracking numbers:
Verizon's policy is usually that if an order is placed before 4:30 PM, it will ship that same day and arrive the next day. I'm curious as to whether or not they are processing all of our orders and those that will be placed up until 4:30 this afternoon, and will then officially ship them immediately afterwards.
This may be why the tracking number isn't showing up yet, as these orders that are marked as "shipped" have just been processed for shipment that may take place this evening.

Haha yeah! Still haven't gotten that confirmation email they said would be sent when the item ships, but here is what VZW's site is telling me.

Honestly, I don't think they can actually charge my card unless it is really shipping, so lets see what happens as the day goes by and they add tracking info.

That's what I'm thinking, each warehouse is preparing their own shipments of orders assigned to them.
I'm jealous of all you guys that managed to wake up early- I ordered at 7:55 AM and got Ace order # 2942766 .
