question about single line plan options

I currently have a iPhone 4s on the nationwide 450 plan. I plan to get a iPhone 6 but I'm wondering if there is another single-line plan (ie more everything) that better suits my needs. I keep my phones for a long time (2-3 years); I don't exceed my minutes or data. I would like the ability to tether but it isn't a requirement. Should I stay with my current plan or is there a better plan to consider? My wife may leave ATT for Verizon soon but it seems like family share plans don't make sense financially until you have more than two lines. Thanks for your thoughts!

There's a 2GB with unlimited talk and text plan for $60 / month. I'm not sure how much data you have (if it's 2GB, you're probably paying $70, so this is better).

Does anyone know if it's still possible to somehow keep your UDP and upgrade your phone at subsidized pricing? Here is what my current family plan looks like:

Line 1 - UDP (my line)
Line 2 - UDP (upgrade available)
Line 3 - TDP

Is it possible to transfer the upgrade from line 2 to line 3, upgrade line 3 at subsidized pricing, and then transfer my number (the one with the UDP) to the new device? I was able to do something similar to this last year (the upgrade being on line 3 at the time) and everything worked out in the end. I've called three different Verizon stores. Two confirmed this is possible. One said this is not possible. The store I plan on purchasing my iPhone 6 from is one of the stores that confirmed this is possible. I realize, however, that this ultimately may depend upon the representative that is working that day and whether or not Verizon corporate has since closed this loophole.

Basically, after trading in my 32 GB iPhone 5s, the 64 GB iPhone 6 could cost me nothing or more like $500.

It's unlimited talk and text with 2GB of data for $60 a month. It ends on 9/30, but if you sign up before then, it'll stay on your account. Overage is $15 / 1GB.

Thanks for helping :D

Is it true there is also a promotional $50 plan? the 1GB/unlimited calling & texting Single Line Plan

Trying to get my wife into 21th. Century

Here's a thought

Line 1(iphone5s) mine UDP
Line 2 (iPhone 4s) wife. UDP (elligble upgrade)

If I go to apple and purchase the iPhone 6 on line 2 making it a 2gb plan. And before apple turns it on take the SIM card from my 5s and put it in the 6 and take the one from the 6 and out it in the 5s will line 1 keep the UDP. Or should I ask for a new SIM card for line 2 so she can use the 5s with the 2gb data

The $200 trade in credit for old iPhones expires on 9/30. I have not preordered yet, but how will this work if I don't get the iPhone 6 until October?

My local Verizon (authorized agent) told me he could not do anything with the trade in program at his store, I would have to do it online and then wait a few weeks for the gift card. I was hoping for a no money trade up. Any way around this, or do I just need to go to a corporate store?

It's all online. I'm not sure about the pre order thing because it states an iphone 6 has to be active on the line. I would call cS and ask.

Are you kidding me? Every year I've traded in my iPhone from the previous year they have always been able to apply the trade-in value directly to the purchase of the new phone. Seems odd that this would suddenly not be the case.

They can, but not the promotional value of $200 for a normally $27 phone.

I have an iPhone 5 with unlimited data (JB'd for free tethering) under an old Talk and Text plan, and I have an IPad Mini with 5GB of data. I'd like to put my unlimited SIM in the iPad and get a new 6....what's the cheapest way to do this? Add a line to my existing service, then put the unlimited data SIM in the iPad? Just get a new number under a modern plan? With the unlimited data SIM in my iPad I won't need much data for the iPhone 6 itself....2GBs or less will do.

Anyone?

But for the iPhone 5s (32 GB), I should be able to receive credit immediately at the time of purchasing the iPhone 6, correct? This is what the in-store CS rep seemed to indicate.

Also, how about keeping my UDP and paying the subsidized pricing typically associated with an upgrade? Is it possible to use the upgrade on a line with a TDP and then to swap numbers so that my line is then associated with the new device?

You just have to do a device swap after the upgrade.

No idea, sorry.

Called and spoke with CS today. Got it worked out that I will now be staying with Verizon for the time being.

Since I had to lose my unlimited data plan I asked them about the Verizon Max plan to switch over to that was offered for 8gigs of data for the $30 fee which is now 6 gigs.

Got them to backdate it and allow me to get the 8 gigs of data rather then 6 gigs. I then get the additional promo for the 1 extra gig of data. So I will be getting 9 gigs of data on my lines. Which works for me as I generally only use about 2-4 gigs depending on my kids playing with my phone.

They are also putting in a request to sustain the unlimited data plan due to being a loyal customer for over 10 years. This is just a request but it if not I am happy with the 9 gigs of daw for the same price.

Just a thought if anyone wants just call and request what I did and you should be able to get the 8 gigs.

**This is a family plan** Not the share everything...essentially each line is a solo line but on a family style plan.

Can I do this?
Line 1 not eligible for upgrade
Line 2 eligible for upgrade and phone ordered
can i add a line 3, and activate new line 3 phone on line 1 then cancel line 3 pay the 350 and be out 550 for a new phone?

i kinda half responded to you earlier. i think from ios 6 and after, verizon had the ability to block phone sims from working in ipads.

Oops, meant to respond to you earlier. No, it works perfectly. Tried it again just today.

They just opened the trade in program to Verizon Authorizer Agents, but not retailers such as Best Buy and Apple.

As of right now, I have an iPhone 5 with a cracked screen, and I'm going to replace the screen with one from eBay. To the average layman, it looks perfect, but an Apple tech would be able to figure it out, I'm sure. You think there will be any issues walking in to a VZW store or authorized retailer and getting my $200 towards trade in?

Its a family plan but each phone is its own individual line on the plan. Its not like the "Share everything family plan"

Sorry for the confusion and I will edit original.

Won't be a problem. As long as it works, everything is good. Turn off Find My iPhone prior to going in (just in case there's issues). They won't trade it in with that on.

If I switch to Edge will I still be getting the $25 off each of my 2 lines after the 20 months? And after 1 year can I pay the rest of the iPhone 6 off and keep it and upgrade to a new phone?

Thanks, man. One more question: is VZW still doing upgrade fees? If so, how much and in what circumstances? Thanks!

Yes. $30 / line. Waived if you do Edge.

Yes.

And yes. You have to pay it off in full when you decide to, you can't do half one month then half the next.
