It'll just be the usage while you had the phone, the activation/renewal fee, and ETF.
Thanks, that is how I read it. Since I plan on switching the phones over to Tmobile day 1 I will have no usage on the phone really.

I have been answering various Verizon questions that are strewn across this forum, so I thought I would make a thread for someone to ask a question and I'll answer it, just to help out the community. Obviously I will not disclose my position, but I am capable of providing fact driven answers to most questions! Also, if you have any Sprint related questions, I can help out as well.
Let's get started!
Is there any reason to not take the $300 credit and upgrade a 5s to a 6? Contract term doesn't bother me and the new features, while not compelling, are nevertheless appealing.
Is there any downside that I'm missing?
If I'm 22 months into my 24 month contract with Verizon and I want to upgrade early with "Edge", do I still have to trade in my iPhone 5?

I'm not sure about that. If Verizon requires you to agree to keep a two year data plan to be kept on a line that was used to purchase a subsidized phone than I would think that also has to be paid.
As this is a new policy, I don't think anyone knows.
This is exactly the type of thing Verizon is trying to prevent, which is why the policy was issued.

You can read between the lines to determine if cancelling the contract and paying the ETF includes the data line as well.
i have an upgrade on NOT my line. if i sign in tomorrow through the website move the upgrade over to my line then can i pre order???
The ETF is still what is this you owe to break the contract. That hasn't changed with this policy. The policy is what the actual lines say and not really what might be between them as they can't enforce something that's not in the actual terms and while the data part has been added to the terms that hasn't chnaged anything in relation to ETF (otherwise that change would need to be made there in the terms as well).I'm not sure about that. I've searched but couldn't find an answer to my question.
If I preorder a 6+ ( at this point optimistically mid October ship date) can i try my luck at finding one locally on launch day? I mean would there be complications with my verizon account since I have to put my account info in to pre-order it and get the new contract price? I'd hate to pre-order then find one locally only to be told i have to pay full price since I used my account online to pre-order. I hope I've explained this well.
I am sorry if this has been answered but
I have 4 lines
1=unlimited main line (upgrade available)
2=2GB data (no upgrade at this time)
3=Dumb phone no data (upgrade available)
4=Dumb phone no data (upgrade available)
so far I moved the #1 upgrade from #1 to #2 and pre ordered 6+ on #2 line
When it comes in I want to switch #2 6+ to line #1 (should not be a problem?)(so I activate first on line2 then switch?)
then take either #3 or #4 and transfer to #2 and get a 6 for line 2 (do I have to wait any amount of time to do this and is it possible?)
i think you should be prepared to give verizon the 720 + etf if you walk away. Nobody has done it yet obviously, but if vzw is locking you into a 2 year data contract they are going to want their money.
Just upgrade the line that is available, and switch them after you receive it. It seems risky doing it the other way around.

Well that is no longer true if VZW changed the terms of using a subsidy. Now is it? If you are agreeing to pay for a data plan for 2 years by buying a phone on subsidy, by breaking your contract you still owe the remainder of the data plan.
I see what your saying but from what I am reading directly from the contract policy it states that only the ETF of $350 is due at the end and $10 less for every month of service completed.
I will be calling verizon tomorrow to further verify the exact terms of the contract policy in regards to early termination of the contract.
when you sign the contract in the first place, you agree to pay monthly bills for two years. yet when you break the contract, you aren't owed the normal billing rate times the number of months remaining on contract, are you? that's what the etf is for.
