Wouldn't that be "10" ?
Nope, not if you want this rumor to continue for the next 10 years (I figure by then it will be true ).
Wouldn't that be "10" ?
Even if they manufacture a CMDA version of the iPhone they still have to go through negotiations to get it to verizon, this is what pisses me off sparks of hope that come from just the manufacturing of a CMDA version they have to go hrough so many other stuff first.
All the update said was no Ballmer at WWDC. Given that Microsoft develops for the Mac (Office) I was assume that someone from the MacBU is going to be there.Read the updates. No Microsoft at WWDC.
A nice side benefit will be that it will completely crush the Android eco-system.
Does anyone else think this whole Verizon iPhone thing is starting to get like the Apple Tablet rumors? Year after year there's some new revelation that THE RELEASE IS IMMINENT!
I bet you were one of those who said that Apple would NEVER switch to Intel. And considering how old the rumor was for Apple to bring a phone to the market to begin with, I bet you were also one of them who stated they'd never bring a phone out.So tired of this non-story!
The iPhone is not coming to Verizon.
One assumes that they wouldn't design/build a CDMA iPhone without prior agreement with Verizon.
Beyond the technology limitations of the Verizon's network, Apple will not go their out of pure spite.
Don't be surprised to see the iPhone on the other networks, just to rub it in Verizon's face.
Willmake an exclusive iPhone model for the CDMA market?
So when you travel abroad your home CDMA country you will be using it like a crippled iPhone...nah
So if they indeed release a CDMA version only, they will have to keep a separate iPhone team for that.
I do travel with my iPhone, and most of the countries I go to have GSM, and CDMA is very poor or non existent.
In theory, yes. In reality it's really not.
I guarantee Apple will bring an iPhone to Verizon. When? I don't know. It will absolutely support CDMA, as well as LTE. Why CDMA? Because according to some reports (http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-20005120-94.html), LTE will cover about 200 million people by 2015. While that is quite a bit of coverage, it's not 100% coverage and the phone will have to drop back to CDMA for compatibility reasons. Also, Verizon doesn't plan to have LTE for voice up and running until 2012 (http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/27/verizon-looking-at-non-unlimited-plans-for-4g-data-will-use-lte/). It's going to be strictly data until that time. How else would a Verizon iPhone use voice? You guessed it, CDMA.
In the end, Apple was developing an Intel version of OS X for quite sometime before they let us all know. It's improbable to believe that they don't have a CDMA version testing somewhere in their labs somewhere. Anyone want to guess which particular employee isn't testing it?
In reality, it is. Spread spectrum signaling is vastly more efficient. Fact.
