I agree. It is a much more pleasant experience.
I think buying direct from Apple is a better experience, 30 day policy.

I've read in several threads that ATT is faster for data over Verizon.
This CNET video disputes that.
A Comparison of the ATT vs Verizon plans.

I've had both phones nd as much as I'd like for Verizon's data to be able to compete with att's it just simply cannotWhile that may be so, I think Verizons lower ping allows web pages to load faster, if not the same or comparable rate. I'm not a Verizon fanboy defending verizon ... I have AT&T![]()

I had the opportunity to try a VZW iPhone for 6 weeks. VZW was trying to get my employers business so VZW let a bunch of us test drive and field test. It was nice because I have a personal AT&T iPhone and was able to compare.
I was contemplating switching to VZW prior because 3 lines on my family plan were getting iPhones/smartphones and I wanted the lines to have unltd data. My line has been grandfathered into unltd data.
I would say that voice between AT&T and VZW are equal. But when it comes to data it's not even a contest. AT&T is significantly and noticeably faster than VZW. This pertains to my area which is Philadelphia area. This doesn't mean that just because AT&T performs better in the Philly area it's like that all over. This is MY experience with the 2 carriers with the same iPhone in my areas that I frequent.
Same experience here in Ohio. I did get fast data speeds in my vzw ip4 when I used my nexus 1 on AT&T as a wifi hot spot and ran the vzw ip4 off of that! :>)
This is why it boggles my mind why AT&T is the carrier to criticize. Maybe it boogles my mind because I experience excellent service from AT&T everywhere I go. In fact when we were in Tampa/Clearwater not too long ago my iPhone 4 worked better there! I always thought AT&T performed well in Philly.
I'm also experiencing the GPS issue. I left AT&T iPhone to escape the amount of dropped calls only to run into this issue. Its a minor issue but a little annoying. I scheduled a Genius Appointment but canceled it after reading this thread. To chance getting a phone with a bad pixel or loose buttons I can live with a flakey GPS.
I noticed the thread has been dormant for sometime. Has anyone discovered an easy fix for this? Or we are waiting for acknowledgement from Verizon or Apple with a fix?
