Verizon Media Event Scheduled for January 11th: iPhone Announcement?

Will it be better on ATT?

I've seen my friends' iPhones in Poland work flawlessly, unlike mine on AT&T's network. I hope Verizon's network will hold much better, I am sick of dropped calls.
I'll stick with the better one, for sure. :)

There is no product to announce. It's just the iPhone 4 on a new carrier. Yeah it's technically new hardware for CDMA, but that's not anything your average phone purchaser would know or care.

This is really pointing to a CDMA or LTE-based iPad. They already sell one with a MiFi duck-taped to the back. It would make sense that this is simply just a bandaid until the hardware was available.

1. If there were any other big announcements, VZW would have announced it at CES. (Remember guys, VZW's CES Keynote was YESTERDAY)

2. In other countries, when iPhone was announced to new carriers.. guess what THEY WEREN'T APPLE EVENTS.

3. It cannot be the new iPad. Why? Because Apple hasn't announced it yet, there will be an Apple event FOR the new iPad FIRST.

4. RE: iPhone 4 (for VZW/ATT) in January and iPhone 5 in June/July. That's still 6 months away, new Android devices and others come out all the time... that's still a lot of life left in iPhone 4.

Finally somene with some brains has spoken... Its not the ipad cause Apple has not announced it... this is a Verizon event.. NOT an apple event..

And to all you nay sayers about the V iphone.. I laugh in your face :)

More than Verizon

New York, home of News Corp. Me thinks there might be a Rupert also involved. The ‘Frederick P Rose Hall’ sounds like a big room - can Mr McAdam think that just launching a current [slightly modified] phone on his network is enough reason to hire a large hall on it's own? I think that there'll also be new iPad and a Newstand anouncement. Verizon have got in first to claim some of the cudos, but it will be an apple event - anyway, that's my theory.;)

I hope Verizon supports wifi hotspots on the iPhone. Put some pressure on AT&T to support it too.
 
A few points:
1. if it is the iPhone, why making a secret invite? An open invite to the press but telling its the iPhone would be better
2. its not the iPhone5, so Steve can let others show it. But he must be there
3. there was too much rumors of Verizon Iphone for 1st quarter, so maybe it is
4. january is the 1st year anniversary of the iPad announcement, maybe the iPad


So, I hope its the iPhone for Verizon, but I'm not 100% sure. Meanwhile I keep waiting for the iPad2 and OSX Lion news.

Meanwhile, word is on the street that the Verizon iPhone could be introduced as early as Monday or Tuesday next week, almost exactly four years after the introduction of the original iPhone. While Apple hasn’t scheduled any special event just yet, several gear manufacturers currently at CES are telling us that the Cupertino-based company will likely send last minute invitations for a next week launch.

and the 11th LTE device is 1-11-11

only 10 lte devices were shown @ces, and i guess they are saving the "11" LTE device for a press conference on 1-11-11... also the new leaked antenna design with a sim slot? Where LTE supports sim cards, so the data will be handled by LTE and voice on cdma ...

verizon has always been creative with there marketing

I understand that some people have ****** service with att but you'd almost think that verizon getting the iphone was > the second coming of jesus or something.
