I thought it said on their website buy a new 7 or 7 Plus, didn't specify GB?

You can try and see what happens. Everyone I've chatted with today on Verizon's end said only the "free" iPhone 7 offer applied to 32GB since it's $650 and that's how much they're offering for trade in.

Now granted you might be able to get that same offer with the higher GB models, but you might still be paying for it.

I just switched from AT&T to Verizon with this deal. I got the 256gb 7 in jet black.

The 650 credit is the trade in of my current iPhone 6 and the remaining balance of the cost is split across the 24 months. Basically a bit more than 8.00 a month on top of the rate plan.

So in your case, after the $650 is paid off, you have to pay the rest since your full retail is around $850?

I ordered the following last night, and all three qualified for the promo trade in value.

128GB Black 7+
128GB Silver 7
32GB Silver 7

Yeah. It looks like you can still get it, it just won't be "free" after the $650 is paid off, it'll only qualify for the 32GB that you used it on.

I think the "free" offer is what is limited to the 32GB. The others you're still paying but it's a lot less

So it will apply the $649 split into 24 separate credits to the monthly bill, resulting in a significantly lower device payment right?

Correct. So after that $649 they'll said they paid their fair share, and now it's up to you to pay off the remaining balance of whatever you have left to owe, depending on the model you got.

Yeah, it's like for the 128gb Plus which is $869, your effectively paying $220 for it, divided into 24 monthly payments.

So then how would they know you will trade a phone in...seems foolish for them not to charge you before obtaining your trade in.
I'm on Verizon's DPP and they send you packaging for the trade-in. If they don't receive the phone in the allotted time frame (I forget how long they give you but it was sufficient time) they will charge your account.

Yep.

It's only on 32GB devices. Jet Black doesn't come in 32GB. Pretty much they're only offering it for phones that cost $650.
Nope. Minimum device cost is $649.99 (e.g. iPhone 7 32GB) and the credit limit is $650 so that's the only model you get for free. If you buy higher models/capacities, you pay the difference.

For example, I got the iPhone 7 256GB ($850). Once the monthly credit kicks in, I'll only be paying $8.33 per month for device installment ( ($850 - $650) / 24).

Yeah, I just realized that now. Damn, wish I got the 128, but oh well. I have a 64GB and only used 6GB over the year that I've had it so I think I'll be OK with 32. I only got it because when the 6S released I didn't wanna get the 16.

I'd like to know this too, since I would rather deliver my phone in person to a store than risk having issues with FedEx/UPS.

They told me to mail it in. They said if you trade in at the store they probably won't be able to honor the $650. I guess we can still try when the time comes. But I'm leaning toward mailing it in.

Ok I read through all this and didn't find any definitive answer.

Can we do an annual upgrade if we take part in this promo? If so, do we still get credited the remainder of the $650 on our device payments for our iPhone 8?

I'm only asking because in the fine print it clearly says the credits stop when the balance is paid.

If you do an annual upgrade, you have to pay the remaining balance due.

For people who missed taking the trade in offer while ordering, per the Verizon rep I talked to, I should initiate the trade in after I get and activate my device. At this point the system will apparently recognize that I have bought an iPhone 7+ during the promo period and give me a valid trade in price of $650. I am not sure if this is what others are hearing. Keeping my fingers crossed that this is going to work. I am attaching the chat log to this post.

THIS is what I wanted to hear!

What condition does the phone have to be in? Mine has 1 small crack in the screen; for a 2 year old phone I'd say mine is about 7.5 out of 10. Do you think this would be worth anything in a trade in value?

Really?! Then I might just cancel my order cause that's crap... unless Verizon is going to send me back the remainder of the $650 or credit it to my account.

They won't. They said the credits will stop if you cancel, or do the annual upgrade option. So therefore if you choose to do the annual upgrade, they will want you to pay the remaining balance since you're leaving before the 24 months is over.

They want the phone and screen to be in good cosmetic condition. No cracks on the screen, but you can always bring it into a store and ask them. They told me no damage to the screen at all but normal wear and tear is fine.
