Ok, just read through the entire thread. It seems that to receive the full credit, the IP7 needs to be on the DPP for the full 24 months. Questions:
1. Are you allowed to transfer that phone to another line on your account before the 24 months is up?
2. If you are allowed such a transfer, would you keep getting the credits?
[doublepost=1473488288][/doublepost]Also, anyone know what the credit is for a 64gb 5s? A 32gb 5?

I believe its 400 for a iPhone 5 or 5s

My husband's 6+ (black) got the $650 credit, but my 6+ (gold) only came up as $245. What did I miss?

When I did the process yesterday morning, it said my device was worth $229 trade in value. But when I initiated the upgrade/trade-in, it triggered the $650 credit deal. That one screen claims $229 but you have to complete the process for it to begin to show the full $650 credit.

On a side note to everyone else, I was still on a 2 year contract (just ended) and the wife was on a DPP with her 6S.

I initiated the upgrade and switched us from the 10GB everything plan to the new 12GB plan for the same price plus 2GB bonus data, which took immediate effect on my account. My order was for an iPhone 7, 256 in black. Device payments chopped down to about $7-8 a month after credit for my iPhone 6 128GB trade in. I was charged $80 up front. $20 for an upgrade fee and the rest was tax on the new phone. I too received a shipping notification for the return box.

Soon after, I got an email detailing the breakdown of the deal. For the first few cycles, my expected bill will be $177, up from $164 I was paying previously per month for two phones on the plan. Then after the credit takes effect, it will drop down to $155 a month. Not a bad deal. New 256GB iPhone 7, 4 GB more data for the same price as 10 with rollover and a $10 less monthly payment. Can't beat that.

I'm also showing a Sept 16th shipping/delivery date.

No, and no.

"The trade in value is issued over 24 months and will appear in 2-3 bill cycles after trade. Your iPhone 7 must remain active on Device Payment for 24 months to receive credits. If you cancel service, or if device payment agreement is paid off or transferred, trade in promotional credits will stop. Traded device must be in good working and cosmetic condition to receive credits."

Just checking: have you confirmed this interpretation with Verizon? I have read that, but there are no more details. It seems possible that if I were to go on my VZW account online and do a "Switch Active Devices (Swap phone numbers between devices on your account)," the IP7 could remain active on DPP, no service would have been canceled, and it could be interpreted that nothing has been transferred as everything would be in my account.

Yep. I have talked to multiple reps yesterday. They said your line has to be active for 24 months and if anything happens before then like swapping, cancelling, etc then the credits stop.

Shoot. Not what I wanted to hear, but very helpful. Thanks. That just dropped the "value" of the trade to ~$300 (or less) for me. In my case, we have a family where 1-2 new phones are purchased each year, and old ones are trickled down. Still not bad, but not $650. I think they're banking on people being so wowed by the new iPhone 8 next year that they'll be willing to walk away from the credits

Yeah. There's a catch with everything with these carriers. It's a great deal, but if you plan on breaking free before the 24 months that's how they'll get you.

What if you do this deal and something happens to your phone on month 8 and you get a replacement under warranty and start using it. Do you still get the credits for the remainder of the 24 months?

The rep I just spoke to said that I would be able to transfer the phone to another line and continue to get the credits. He said as lone as the line remains active and the phone is not paid off early, it didn't matter which line the iPhone 7 was on.

I just spoke with yet another rep who confirmed the exact same thing:

One does not have to initiate the trade in or get the $650 quote at check out. There's no promo code or special link.

The system is set up to automatically detect an iPhone 7 on the account. Once your qualifying trade in is received, you will get the appropriate promotional amount.

Hmmm. This conflicts with was heyyitssusan learned. In any case I am tempted to trade-in an old iPhone 5 that's lying around (instead of my 6, which I would pass down to my daughter). It's sort of crazy to get $400 for that phone now, and even ~$200 if I lose the credit after moving the 7 to a different line isn't too shabby for an iPhone 5 in 2016.

Did anyone else's IMEI trade-in come up as a different model than what the device actually is?

My trade-in is a 6 Plus 128 GB in Silver, but it came up as a 6 Plus 16 GB in Space Gray. I accepted it because there was no other option, and the trade in value for all 6/6s models is $650.

I was told the same thing this morning, that the amount it showed me during check out didn't matter for anything.

Unless you still have remaining payments on your Phone, then you need to pay off the phone first.

So when you go thru the iPhone trade in stage and it gives you the estimate its worth(mine $240 for a iPhone 6). What option do you pick. Do you pick "Trade in for Account credit"??? and then once they get the phone, it will update showing the $650???

That's what I showed for me, but I had to have Verizon cancel my first order then re-do it a second time for that to show up.

I'm wondering the same thing...

I've already said this several times in this thread, but I'll try once more:

It. Doesn't. Matter. What. The. Estimate. Says.

There is no need to cancel orders or redo orders. When your trade in phone arrives, the system will detect your new iPhone 7, and your account will be credited the $650. (This has been confirmed by multiple CSR's by multiple people.)

No first you need to call Verizon and ask them what the payout is pay that amount first then you do the pre-order, then you are qualified for the trade in.

It does not have to show I was on the phone with the Verizon CS for 2 hours I had to cancel my original pre-order and re-order it. She told me it wont show anything about the trade in on the confirmation email, she said when I get the phone I would need to go to the verizon trade in page and log into my account and when I enter in my iPhone I am trading in it will recognize that you are doing the 650.00 iPhone trade in deal. She said if I had any issues i can call back and they can help me.

So then do I select "Apply credit to account"

What if you iPhone 7 needs a repair? or gets lost?

If it gets lost then you are SOL pretty much unless you have insurance to cover that. If it needs a repair, and you have AC+ you should be just fine. Definitely getting AC+ on mine when I get it. Just got a refund for AC+ on my 6S and going to use that towards the 7.

I am starting to rethink this. My concerns are that I really don't trust Verizon if I have to mail in my phone. If I send them a perfect condition phone and they say it isn't... What recourse do I have? My local corporate store said they can't take my trade in on a preorder in store. They said launch day purchase possibly if the promotion is still going. They said even in store preorders must mail it in.

Next, I know I will trade next year. I could always swap things around with a different line on my account so I could still get the credits...Issue with that is some people have said that Verizon has told them that the credits follow the IMEI.

Can anyone find the full terms and conditions?

The small disclaimer on the Verizon website makes it seem you just need to keep the line active.

$649.99 on device payment req'd. Less $650 trade-in credit, ends when balance paid; 0% APR. Line must be active for 2 yrs for full credit. Trade-in must be in good working & cosmetic condition.
