No wonder I have confusion and trust issues.

I ask the rep:

Is the promotion tied to the phone number or IMEI?

They say tied to the IMEI and if that IMEI isn't associated with that phone number the promotion payments will end.

I then ask, what if the phone is damaged or lost and needs to be replaced?

They answer that if I have insurance the phone would be replaced and the promotion payments would continue.

Next I ask how that would work if the IMEI is now different?

They didn't understand

I was then able to speak to a supervisor who stated that the promotion is tied to the phone number and DPP. You can do whatever you want with the phone as low not as you you keep the DPP and phone number active, the credits will continue.

Again, all logical and what I thought....just so many seem to be getting different answers.

Did anyone ask this question: "After the 24 months, will we get to keep the phone or do we need to return to Verizon, as we traded our phone"

I am on ATT and my wife is on T-mobile. We both have iPhone 6S 64GB paid off (neither of us has any contract). We are both considering switching to Verizon since T-mobile is not what they want to make you believe it is and ATT is just simply priced themselves out - they offer less for more money compared to Verizon.

We are not too keen on trading in any of our phones since we have kids and family members where we can pass the phones down, but would entertain a buy one get one free deal, but it does not look like Verizon has anything like that for iPhones at least. Does anyone have any idea when usually they might have a promo like that, if ever?

I did the math and it is not worth it for me.

Right now line access fee for my phone is $15 as I am some kinda old plan. Once I upgrade, it will jump to $40, which is $25 higher each month.

AFter 2 yrs, i will be paying $600 for line access fee and is totally not worth it for me.

Verizon offered something like that a few months ago: http://slickdeals.net/f/8844895-verizon-wireless-buy-2-iphone-6s-get-650-rebate.

Anybody know how long this deal lasts? I just saw this thread and am interested now in upgrading my 6s. I may just go to s corporate store to do it so I won't have to mail my old phone in- if the deal will still be in place.

No idea. I would call your corporate store first and see if they'll take it in store.

The rep I just spoke to said that I would be able to transfer the phone to another line and continue to get the credits. He said as lone as the line remains active and the phone is not paid off early, it didn't matter which line the iPhone 7 was on.
YES I also got this response. It would be the same as you doing "transfer upgrade" to another line but doing it afterwards.

My corporate store said that in you do an in store preorder...you still have to mail it in.

No date has been set for ending.

AT&T was showing 9/30... So I would think Verizon would follow

Line access is only $40 if you're on a contract. If you switched to a new plan, the line access would be $20/mo. (Not $40).

Nobody knows. Reps don't even know.

Based on my reading when you trade-in your phone, you are on a 24 month contract, for which, the line access charge is $40. How can it be $20 on a trade-in?

It's not a contract. It's a device payment plan (DPP). There's a difference.

They apply the trade in credits on your bill over 24 months. You can leave any time you like, but if you do, you lose your trade in credits.

No contract though, so it's a $20 fee.

Call and/or chat with a VZW CSR.

You are correct, I am chatting with VZW CSR. Only thing he did not make it clear is, what will happen to the $27.08 * 2 months of payments we do on DPP. Any idea?

Edit: Per CSR, they will credit these payments too. So we are locked in for 2 years, but we can leave at any time, during which we have to pay the balance of credits. Right?

It's compensated on the 3rd month's bill. AFAIK, the first payment is payment for months 1-3.

I'm not 100% on this though; just what I read elsewhere.

I'm due for an upgrade next month, but my iPhone 6 was stolen a couple of days ago. Just my luck. Is there any way that I can still trade it in for a free 7 without having the phone physically with me? My IMEI and phone number are still active (I haven't notified Verizon yet).

How can you trade it in without physically possessing it?

I don't know, that's why I'm asking. I'm sure this scenario has been presented to carriers before, so I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. I highly doubt it, but, hell, crazier things have happened.

Nope thats not right..if you are on the more everything plan then your line access fee is 40.00 if you are on 2 year contract. If you use device payment then you are going to pay 15.00

I confirmed this with a rep today. I thought lines that are out of contract get the discount but that's not the case anymore. Any line on the More Everything that's enrolled in a DPP plan has a line Access fee of $15.
