How will I do the trade-in? According to the website it says that Verizon will send me a box within 5 days. Well since I'm not getting my iPhone 7 until Oct 5th, I'm not going to be sending the trade-in out anytime soon. Or is it as long as they get it like 30 days within the activation of the new iPhone 7?

Your email should say this:

"Your postage-paid trade-in box will
arrive within 7-10 business days

Finally got in also. Hope the Jet Black ships sooner. Also, I was hit w/ $20 upgrade fee. I thought VZW waived that if you do your order online....

I'm also now wondering what happens if you want to upgrade in 12 months.. Since the credit gets applied over 24 months. Wonder if you lose those 12 months of credit?

Just says line must stay active for 24 months....

I'd imagine unless you pay off the phone after a year you'd lose that trade in value.

How great of a deal is this $650 trade in? I feel like its amazing, not sure if I am missing something here

Me too. I'm calling them as soon as they open.

So I can go thru on my app but I don't know if I should cause it says September 28! Noooo can I walk in a store on launch day?
Yes the past two years my local verizon store always had stock for walk-in. Verizon is the more expensive carrier so the line of people waiting will be smaller.

This is an amazing deal as long as you have no plans to leave verizon. You aren't missing anything. Clearly, apple is worried about people not upgrading due to no headphone and same design. I think they are subsidizing this with all the carriers to push people to upgrade.

I'm upgrading my gf's Iphone 6 for 100 bucks and I'm upgrading my 5S for 349. This is similar to what samsung has been doing to push their Galaxy 7, with the buy one get one free. I think this deal is actually better than that.

I think it's pretty good if you don't upgrade early. Me, I usually upgrade early so I may just sell my old phone and not send it in.

I think it's pretty great...hard to get more than that for your phone. Of course it's over 2 years and not lump sum, but still.

Anybody else have older iPhones laying around they are now itching to trade-in? LOL So tempted to buy my MIL an iPhone 7 now just to get $400 credit on an iPhone 5.

I will still trade in 1 device in 12 months when next iPhone comes along. I will pay the $324.99 that I will of owe to purchase the device. Sell it for at least that amount and I have paid zero to use the iPhone 7 for the first 12 months. Then do whatever the best promo is at that time.

I wonder if we already preordered the phone through apple if we can call Verizon and somehow get the trade in deal I did the 2 year upgrade discount but $650 is a lot more then I can sell my 6s for

That was a sweet deal. I don't plan on leaving Verizon so I upgraded two iPhones 6 phones I have now . Not sure about the whole trade in part though. I guess I turn them in to a store? That part wasn't real clear

One reason not to do the trade-in would be if you still owe half the value on a 6s, you would have to pay that upfront to do the trade-in whereas using the Annual Upgrade that fee gets waived. If you then upgrade a year from now and did the trade-in you'd lose the back half of the credits according to the T&Cs, so it's a wash on balance but with annual upgrade you don't have to pay hundreds of dollars up front. If you end up not upgrading in a year, then it would have been a poor choice to pass on the trade-in. This is all assuming you are not selling third party.

The other thing I noticed is that if the device is paid off the payments will stop. Ok. So if I pay 30 bucks for 3 months until the reimbursement kicks in, does that mean I'll get 90 less in reimbursement? Because I'll end up paying off the phone before I get 24 months of credits.

Edit: Verizon said you get catch-up credits when it initiates.

According to the Person I talked to at tele-sales who helped me order my phones he told me they would send me a box and I need to mail it back to them and the box would come with everything needed to return them back in and once they receive them they will check the condition and then give the trade in value.

that does not seem right... trade in a 6s for $650 which pays off the cost of a new phone, leaving me to only have to pay tax or less than $100. what does VZ get out of it then?
A 2-year obligation

I've done this before. It's quick and painless. Even this idiot could do it. ;-)

I had zero intention of upgrading this year. None. However, if VZW is going to give me $650 for my 16GB iPhone 6 and I can get a $128 GB iPhone 7 for $5, it might be dumb not to.

I have no plans of leaving VZW, so agreeing to another 2 years is no biggie. Almost a no-brainer.

I have been chatting with a Verizon rep this morning and this is what she told me:

"Nope! Once the trade in is processed, the price of the iPhone 7 will be paid in full and will not show on your bills moving forward. :) Rest assured that nothing will add up on your bill after the upgrade."

Oh and the rep put all the info in my account, but she told me to go the store to trade in the phone once I get the 7 and the promo will be placed in then.

hi did my 1st ever per order added a line and got me a gold 128GB iphone 7 pluse

Multiple reps saying the same thing is more convincing, but once bitten twice shy. This wouldn't be the first time that reps did it have the most up to date info, and this does seem like a new promo with different restrictions. We'll see.
