OK guys from what I have gathered from speaking to the Verizon rep and talking to a local store:

-You have to buy the phone first under the payment plan.
-Once you get the 7 and activate it, you will get a confirmation email and the link to go to the trade in site. Fill out your info, etc.
-Once you mail your phone off and they inspect it, you will get your credit within 2-3 billing cycles.

Review the thread again. Other people have had a similar issue. If I recall, it involved declining the first offer and then receiving thr promo offer at check out.

I have already try this like a 100 times still shows $298 in my cart. This is so frustrating.

You will still see that amount once you process the trade in after the fact when you recieve your phone., Just accept it and process the trade. Verizon will handle the credit on their end.

Ok, so just choose to do it later then?

Yes. Wait till you get your phone and activate it. You will get a text message or email with the link to trade in.

I just talked to a verizon rep too, they said that I have to cancel my pre-order, then re-preorder, then select trade in my device and it will straighten itself out when I go to finalize my order. Hmmm......

What does it show when you finalize your order?

Ok, thanks for your help. Do you also know why my other phones on my plan can only upgrade at retail price and are not presented with the device payment plan upgrade?

ETA: From what I was told, nothing will be truly finalized till they get your phone and apply to credit to your bill. Until then everything will be normal.

Have they been paid off?

They were purchased on a old 2 year contract but it still shows I have 376 days left on contact on those phones. Could that be why?

That could be, I'm not sure though. Are you on a grandfathered plan or anything?

The plan is National Talk and Text 700 Minutes...its an old plan...Those lines only have 2 GB of data each. Its weird I can buy at full retail though, but not device payment which is the same thing just split up over 24 months.

Hmm. Very weird. I would chat verizon and see what's up with that.

Scratch that, I just contacted them once again to cancel my order and she tells me "You don't have to do that", just send your old one back when you get your new one, and I will still receive a $400 promotional trade in for my iPhone 5s.... I can't complain, I think I'll do that

OK, phew, good to hear that! I was getting ready to chat again after I saw that, haha.

My account is still all jacked up.

I tried to pay to 50% because full payoff wasn't an option and I thought it would give me full payoff next. Well they charged my 50% 2 times to my credit card.

I was still able to preorder but it wouldn't let me trade because it is showing the phone on DPP. So now my account says the phone is paid in full...even though I still owe $150... but its locked from being able to trade.

I have called Verizon several times and they don't know what to do.

I am worried. I am going to give Verizon a call shortly. I was not offered this trade in offer when I pre-ordered the iphone 7. Verizon site during the pre-order said that I will only get $36 for my flawless iphone 6. Contacted a representative through the chat box and they confirmed that I will only be getting $36 for my iphone 6.
