Seriously frustrated with Verizon right now.
Placed my order for 16gb Silver 5s on Friday at 3am eastern. Received a text with order number and was told my order should be shipped on 9/24. I'm not the account owner, but I used the owner account (belonging to my family's business) to place the order, with my personal debit card. The order was flagged by the fraud department but I was not contacted. I called yesterday and the CS rep, after talking with the fraud department, said they needed to verify the account with a social security number. I hung up, found the social security number, and called back. This CS rep was useless and did not understand the situation. She told me that my order was cleared and my phone was being shipped. However, as of today, I still haven't been charged. Called Verizon again tonight and this CS rep was more helpful. He understood, but said that the fraud department was closed for the night. I argued that because the CS rep yesterday was at fault for not handling my order correctly, they should expedite my order. He said that he couldn't guarantee anything because of the high volume of orders, and some people are not receiving their orders until next month.
I woke up at 3am Friday to order my phone... I will be pissed if my order is pushed to the end of the line! I'm in a small town so I seriously could have gone to the store, but because of work, and being unsure what their supply would be, I figured online ordering would be the best way to go.
Arrived at location... as in arrived at the local destination?
getting very annoyed with verizon right now. ordered mine at 3:17am on friday...silver 16GB and still don't have a tracking numbereveryone's posting about having theirs already!
My order confirmation email came in 3:16am on Friday and still haven't received anything new either...still "processing." Ordered 32 GB Silver Gray and 16 GB Gold...only $1 placeholder charge on AmEx so far, but still says shipping by 9/24...hopefully some update will occur overnight.
No it just means they went from VZ to the nearest FedEx origin hub. So they are ready to be stuck on a plane or truck for delivery to the destination hub![]()
If I remember correctly from last year, there may not be much activity tomorrow. It is scheduled for 2 day, which means FedEx will deliver it on Wednesday. So tomorrow may be quiet until late night when the phones will be loaded on planes and flown overnight to the local airport. Then around 6 in the morning on Wednesday, they will be brought to the local terminals to be put on trucks for delivery.
I may be wrong, but I seem to remember this happening for the past 3 launches. Of course those had pre-orders. I bring this up so that everyone keeps a level head if not much happens tracking-wise until tomorrow night.
not if i don't even have a tracking number yet! come on verizon, i didn't wake up at 3am for you to throw my order in with the later ship dates. pissing me off right now.
For what it's worth, my tracking number was not showing on the order status page linked from the email until much later.

My tracking shows that shipment information was just sent to FedEx at 3AM today. The arrival time changed from Wednesday by 4 to Wednesday by 8. LOL.
