I’m surprised they recommended an iPhone of any kind. I worked for them from iPhone 4-6S and almost every employee and manager was extremely biased toward Android. I doubt that’s changed.

I would also imagine every Verizon store likely is different though. I have six Verizon Stores in my city, two which I frequent and I feel the employees are different at every store based on what they recommend from experience and use personal use for a phone.

Sales reps are in a unique position to see things that the peanut gallery here doesn't, namely how many people return their devices or come back with problems. It is completely reasonable that they may have seen a higher rate of returns for the X than with other phones.

I'm getting really tired of the holier-than-thou contingent constantly acting like they're the all knowing arbiters of what is correct and assuming everyone else is an idiot.

Every Verizon store is different and no two stores are the same . Because every employee is going have a different experience. I could make the argument that one Verizon store uses all android devices and be other Verizon store I visited the employees use iPhones. No one is going to have the same suggestion based on what they recommend, because of their own personal experience and their preference of what platform they choose to use.

They still see a much larger sample size, even if anecdotal, than anyone here assumes to be the case, so they do have a better sense of how new customers are accepting it.

Link or a source to these claims please.. I assume if Verizon had a much larger return rate or issue rate than other carriers that it would be news worthy and reported on..

If you don't have a credible source for your above claims then I guess this statement you made applies to you as well?

I would be willing to bet that  has everyone under a non disclosure agreement that essentially says only  is allowed to release that data. So no info will be released unless  releases it.

Naw.... If Verizon had more returns and issues with their X's you can bet it would be reported on. One rep making bogus statements does not cover Verizon as a whole. My neighbors daughter is a assistant manager at a corporate Verizon store so the next time I see her outside doing yard work or whatever I'll try to remember to ask her if Verizon had a high rate of returns or issues with the X...

I ordered my 8 Plus online. Verizon will NEVER get a phone purchase from me.

I had a horrible experience in several of their stores (not all are bad) - but I go out of my way to avoid stepping foot in a Verizon store - and I haven't for years... and years... So pleasant dealing with Apple and doing everything online. Yeah, sometimes have to wait longer for shipping but, I'm ok with that. Nearest Apple Store is 40 mins away.

I have had family, friends, coworkers come to me and tell me the stuff that reps say and ... yeah, it can be terrible. I think a lot of these guys/gals are under terrible management that forces them to sell certain phones and certain plans a month or lose their jobs.

I can't say enough good about ordering online. I don't miss the lines, the reps, the "are you REALLY sure you don't want our protection plan? Sir... I don't think you're considering this carefully..."

I totally agree. I ordered my iPhone X while sitting in a Starbucks having a cup of joe. They emailed me by my second cup of coffee with my approval and pickup info. When I arrived at the store I waited for maybe 10 minutes (it was 2 days before Christmas) and had my phone in my hands walking out the door 15 minutes later. They offered to activate and set it up or gave me the option to take it as is and set it up later at my convenience. It was a great experience. The hardest part was checking the inventory daily to find out if they had the phone in the color/storage I wanted..

You are asking for sources related to speculation and an opinion?

Also, I made sure I ordered the SIM free version. My iPhone and I can go to any carrier now.

Read the post I quoted.... Should clear things up for you..

Really? You are going to make me go through the post you quoted? It was all speculation. What claims could the poster provide statistics for?

They said the salesman was in a unique position and could possibly be seeing more returns than you and I. Considering we don't work at a phone store it's possible. (Speculation) it's not like they factually stated more Xs come back compared to other phones. That would warrant a statistic.

Second, part.. seems like a reasonable assumption. Again speculation on their part. No statistics or numbers were given that would warrant proof.

Third, they do not agree with the holier than thou. Their opinion. What proof would you like to see for that comment?

Asking someone to provide proof or links for a comment is not the most effective way to silence those you don't agree with.

Oh my.... Really? C.mon now read and understand the thread please.....

He/she slammed everyone else for having an opinion and then posted their own opinion as a matter of fact. If it's a matter of fact then post proof.. It's it's an opinion then don't slam others for having a different one..

I think you are doing the same thing, but that's just speculation and my opinion. If you want proof you are going to have to look in the mirror.

Nope... Again ---> try reading the thread. It can't really be that hard can it?

I've been pretty clear that my thoughts on the situation were my opinion and that it would not matter to me if we were talking about a different phone. The reps should not be making false statements. If there is some proof I am not aware of as to the reps claimed issues and return info then by all means post it... Until then it's an opinion and the person I quoted said they were fed up with it so I assume their post was a matter of fact based unless they are also fed up with themselves that is..

Never contested what the rep said or did. I agree the rep should not steer a customer. While I was waiting for your witty response I reviewed the thread. You are combative with everyone who posts negative comments about the X. I assume because you like yours. Fair enough.

I took issue with your aggressive comments regarding other opinions. You demand links yet post things like:

Riddle me this.. If the rep was taking care of the customer then why sell him the 8? The 7 does the same thing as the 8 and is cheaper. Oh wait, the rep was not looking out for the customer?

I just came from a 7 plus to an 8 plus and can say they are very different phones. You could also say the X and the 8 are the same. They both make calls and take pictures.

Instead of criticizing others about their reading comprehension, might I suggest learning how to deal with criticism yourself.

LOL.. Not much else really to say about this entire post.. You obviously didn't read, comprehend or understand the postings and that's cool...

Can't really say much more than that.. I'll let you have the last retort as it's obvious you are just here to argue since you've attacked my posts but failed to attack the other, rather rude posts made here...

Here are a few you might have missed:

Do me, yourself and everyone else a favour and stop having bizarre and vaguely insecure pops at low-paid retail workers because you think they’ve got some kind of vendetta against the X. Jesus wept.

I'm getting really tired of the holier-than-thou contingent constantly acting like they're the all knowing arbiters of what is correct and assuming everyone else is an idiot.

Those posts are attacking someone else different opinion.. I posted nothing that was a matter of fact and said a few times it was 'in my opinion' Understand???????????????

So no one understands or comprehends this thread, or your comments but you, and then you declare yourself the victor of a conversation. Well done.

You don't see anything wrong with this picture? While you figure it out I am going to move on. Best of luck to you.
