Awesome plan. Never knew they sold those or I'd have signed up too. Very jealous :)

I don't think they ever did. We had an Alltel plan and an Alltel internet card. When they shut the Alltel data network down, they replaced our device and plan :)

Hmm...I have an unlimited data Netgear Home Router. I wonder if that will be throttled. I've been able to upgrade to a new device through Verizon's automated system and keep UDP, so I think this plan may be so rare, it slipped through the cracks of the system.

In case you were wondering, the plan details are attached.

Looks like a really sweet plan

There are times when I hate being right all the t...

Nahhhh.

Told you so. Neener neener.

Welcome to the world of throttling. Don't cry. It'll be ok. You might still be able to stream an SD YouTube video by the end of the month.

Thanks for buying the devices at full price because VZW was "never going to do this" though.

It's all downhill from here... Sell it now if you can

Will not effect me for the next 2 years cause I am under contract :D And I have never paid full retail price for any device and there are still ways to get back under contract and even even get discounted phones

No throttling yet... maybe they haven't activated it. Just know I'm in a high density area and my ULD line and another bucket data line both read the same speeds.

Are you under contract?

No, month to month. Debating on whether or not to hop on contract. Right now, if this is it... I won't be making changes. There are differences of 1-2Mbps in speed which I attribute to different model phones (6 vs 6+).

I know this is a high density area as my speeds are 5-15Mbps vs home speeds of 80Mbps. But both phones consistently are within 1-2Mbps of each other regardless of area.

Well they definitely aren't throttling uncongested towers. I'm getting 80 down and 30 up this morning and I'm over 5GB used for this cycle.

Will try again when I'm at work in the metro area later. Those should be congested.

Let us know, I tried mine this morning and it seemed fine. I will try again during my commute home and see what it's like.

I'm going to purposely drive my data usage up past 4.7gb to fully test whether users under contract with unlimited data are going to be throttled. I'm at 3gb right now, and I'm going to let my phone stream 1080p video using McTube on my hour drive home from college later. Hopefully I'll hit 4.7gb at some point today to report back with my findings.

Awesome. Please report back. :)

Well, I'm not on contract and I've used 7.5 GB so far. I just ran the speed test and I was above 20mbps.

I'm on contract and have used....37gb....no throttling, g/f has used around 15gb

I think it's still to early to tell if we are throttled. On side note, Verizon has matched att offer of double the data promo. Something to consider if you want to avoid the hassle of keeping unlimited data.

It's a tempting proposition. I use a ton of data, but I'll never really go over the 30GB threshold of that plan. If throttling over 5GB is severe then I might have to do this or jump onto T-Mobile.

Although at the moment I'm only paying 40 for my phone on my UDP plan so... I don't know. I'll check on it before the month ends. It'd be nice to be able to tether easily, but once that internet hits a computer, the data will just be slurped right up in no time.

And I still don't like the idea of having to manage my data and keep track of it, so I'll probably just sit out this promo and hope for the best.

Where did you see Verizon's matching data? I've been pricing plans all morning to see if it's worth staying with them (provided throttling happens at all, or ends up being useless) and I didn't see any double data promos with them -- if they did in fact do so, it may be an option for me.

It's very tempting to switch to this plan. I have 4 iPhones on my plan. 3 out of the 4 use less than 2 gb. I can get 60gb and keep 58gb for me. :)

I'm on with them now, and of course they know nothing about it, big surprise, hah. My bill cycle re-starts tonight so if I was going to change I'd like to get it done today (or to kick in tomorrow) but they can't tell me if it'd double my data or not if I did it now. Still on hold, so we'll see.

Hrm, this won't work, they're telling me the lines will be 40.00, 40.00 (2 iphones, which I own) and 30.00 30.00 (2 flip phones). What happened to the smartphones being 15.00 and 15.00 if you have your own device?

Today isn't the 2nd. That's when it starts. I think you're wasting your time calling today.

I know it's not the 2nd, but I'm sure they can give me information about something that's posted on their own site -- it's not like I got it from a 3rd party source. I was trying to determine if one changed today, if tomorrow the double data would kick in (by that logic everyone with 15 GB would automatically be moved to 30 GB), they're saying that customers who are already on MORE everything would need to call in to GET the double data, you'd think it'd just be easier to just migrate everyone over to it..
